Clinton's Popularity Plunges As Obama 'Contagion' Spreads

Clinton's Popularity Plunges As Obama 'Contagion' Spreads

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 06/13/2014 08:16 -0400

In December 2012, 70% of those polled viewed Hillary Clinton favorably; in March 2014 it was down to 56%; and now, as President Obama's approval rating hits record lows, only 52% view Hillary Clinton favorably. "She is down across the board," notes the poll, "even with groups that have been her most ardent supporters." As Bloomberg reports, among likely 2016 voters, Clinton remains ahead with 47% support compared to 38% for each of her potential opponents.

    As Bloomberg reports,
Fifty-two percent of Americans view the former secretary of state favorably, down from 56 percent in March and 70 percent in December 2012, according to the Bloomberg National Poll.

The decline means Clinton wouldn’t enter a possible 2016 race as a prohibitive favorite over key Republican rivals. While she still bests them in head-to-head matchups, she doesn’t have majority support against any of them.

Among likely 2016 voters, Clinton beats New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, 45 percent to 38 percent, the poll shows. When matched against Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Clinton pulls 47 percent support compared with 38 percent for each of her opponents. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida registers only slightly weaker, drawing 36 percent backing to Clinton’s 47 percent.

    ...

“Hillary Clinton may be suffering from contagion from President Barack Obama’s sinking scores. She is down across the board, even with groups that have been her most ardent supporters,”
    Sex matters...
Women lopsidedly view her favorably, 61 percent to 31 percent; men see her unfavorably, by 49 percent to 43 percent.

Among likely voters, all four of the Republican candidates gain about a 6-point edge with men and Clinton scores a roughly two-to-one margin with women.
So when does Hillary start to distance herself from every Obama policy?

Crisis After Crisis After Crisis & Guess What Our President Is Focusing His Executive Attention On

    By Norvell Rose
    4:16 pm June 14, 2014

What the going gets tough, Barack Obama gets going (along with Mama Obama)…to another fundraiser, another gadfly gathering, another round of golf at some posh country club. For this president, the Situation Room is a big, fancy house full of big, fanciful supporters waving big, fabulous checkbooks.
Consider the state of the world today.
Iraq is literally descending into bloody chaos. A powerful new terror organization, ISIS, is sweeping across the region, threatening to create a formidable Islamic caliphate built around jihad. Iran is on the march. U.S. warships are moving into the region. Russian aggression continues to cause great concern as Putin’s warplanes buzz our West Coast.
Meanwhile, the southern U.S. border is wide open as the agents charged with protecting us from drug smugglers and suitcase nuke-carrying members of Al Qaeda are busy serving as babysitters to parentless children streaming in from Central America.
And those are just a few of the more pressing crises threatening global stability and national sanity.
    So, where’s Waldo…I mean, where’s Obama?
On a sassy little swing through Southern California, to pass the hat for campaign cash in Orange County and hit a few gold balls in Palm Springs. And oh yes, the jet-setting prez will deliver the commencement address to UC Irvine’s Class of 2014 at Angel Stadium. Wonder if he’ll take the occasion, as he has done before, to bash Republicans and lift up Democrats?
Wonder if he’ll give a second thought to the world outside of the glamorous and glittery — a world that’s literally coming apart at the international seams.
    FORE-ward!

GALLUP CONCLUDES HILLARY’S ERA OF HIGH FAVORABILITY ENDING [READ]

Posted on 14 June, 2014 by clyde

As she launches her book tour to rebrand her image, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is becoming less liked by Americans.
According to a Gallup survey, only 54 percent of Americans now view Clinton favorably, which is her lowest rating since 2008. She had a 59 percent favorability rating before her book tour.
Clinton, a potential 2016 presidential contender, is less liked when she enters the political arena, and her book tour is being run like a campaign. Clinton has already made plenty of blunders during her book launch, like claiming that she was “dead broke” after she and her husband left the White House, even though they bought two lavish homes in Washington, D.C. and New York.
Gallup also found that her favorability ratings plummeted with Republicans and Independents after four Americans were murdered in Benghazi while she was secretary of state.
“Hillary Clinton’s era of higher favorability appears to be ending even before she announces whether she will run for president,” Gallup concludes. “Americans typically rate non-political figures higher than political ones on this measure, and her favorable ratings before, during, and after being secretary of state are consistent with that phenomenon.”
Gallup conducted the poll June 5-8, 2014, and the margin of error is +/- four percentage points.

Poll: Hillary Clinton’s Popularity Plummets to Lowest in Six Years

    Sarah Jean Seman | Jun 14, 2014

Even as Hillary Clinton attempts to publicize her new book "Hard Choices," public impression of the former First Lady is fading. According to a Gallup poll released Wednesday, Clinton's popularity dropped to its lowest since August 2008.
The poll found that 54 percent of Americans view her favorably, down from 59 percent in February:

The dramatic plummet between 2007 and 2008 marks Clinton's concession to Barrack Obama as the Democratic presidential nominee. Clinton stayed in the public eye after the loss and accepted the position of U.S. Secretary of State in November 2008. During that time, her ratings consistently stayed above 60 percent. As Gallup noted:
Hillary Clinton's era of higher favorability appears to be ending even before she announces whether she will run for president. Americans typically rate non-political figures higher than political ones on this measure, and her favorable ratings before, during, and after being secretary of state are consistent with that phenomenon.
So what gives? Perhaps it is Clinton's apparent flip-flopping on issues such as gay unions, her preposterous post-White House bank account lie, or the unraveling story of the attack in Benghazi, Libya, which occurred under her watch.

Hillary’s Coming Out Party Continues To Be a Stumble-Prone Disaster of a Downer w/ Gaffe After (Useful) Gaffe

    By Norvell Rose
    4:52 pm June 15, 2014

One after another…gaffe upon gaffe…goof piled on goof. Hillary Clinton’s book tour for her “Hard Choices” tome — a tour intended to put Mrs. C into a national media spotlight to illuminate her path to a likely presidential run — well, that high-profile, big-fanfare excursion has been anything but a joy ride.
In fact, you could say the Hillary Clinton Experience has been a disastrous downer. For a look at Hillary’s very bad, terribly awful week (last week), you can read out previous posts here and here.
On top of her “dead broke” debacle, the hot and testy exchange with an NPR host over gay marriage, and the Abe Lincoln was a senator from Illinois (not) remark, Mrs. Clinton has now made an observation about American politics that is way-out-in-left-field bizarre, to say the least.
But in Hillary’s cold eyes, it could play in her favor, as we’ll explain in a bit.
In a TV interview with Jane Pauley (yes, she’s still around), Hillary said:
“…the American political system is probably the most difficult, even brutal in the world.”
What world is Hillary Clinton talking about? Clearly, her own distant planet on which:
    - there’s no political system like the one in Iraq where brutal and barbaric slaughter are part of the process
    - the bloody fighting between Russia and the Ukraine isn’t going on
    - Sharia law doesn’t lead to awful, deadly political consequences in Muslim nations dominated by hard-line Islamists
    - The Chinese government doesn’t brutally oppress dissenters.
THE AMERICAN POLITICAL SYSTEM THE “MOST BRUTAL”? That’s not only myopic, it’s also an insult to the people who truly suffer under oppressive systems that routinely engage in brutal acts of violence.
Once more, Hillary Clinton shows herself to be disastrously out of touch with reality and so woefully disconnected from truth that it is impossible to take her seriously.
You can watch the excerpted interview in which Mrs. Clinton makes a fool out of herself on national TV…once again.

    Video at the page link:

How this America is “brutal” remark does serve Hillary Clinton’s political interests — it sets up the narrative that she will be brutalized as she steps further into the ring of presidential politics. A convenient context for someone wanting to claim the mantle of victimhood at the hands of ruthless sexists.
