Concerned Citizen Alerts Agents to Marijuana Smuggling Attempt

Bundles of marijuana are discovered in a truck along the border near Sullivan City, Texas.

City Station seized 594 ponds of marijuana with the help of a concerned citizen.

A concerned citizen notified the Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station that there was a black Chevrolet Avalanche loading up with marijuana and gave them the location of the vehicle. Border Patrol agents on patrol near Sullivan City responded to the area and observed a vehicle matching the description. As the agents approached the vehicle, the vehicle sped away. The vehicle was found abandoned shortly thereafter with 37 bricks of marijuana.

The 594 pounds of marijuana, valued at $475,200 was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
