    Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman is surging in the polls and is positioned to win a landslide victory next week in the special election to fill a vacant Upstate New York Congressional seat, predicts the head of a conservative PAC currently running Independent Expenditure radio spots.

    Hoffman held a 34-29 lead over Owens with just 14 for Scozzafava. Scozzafava actually led with definite voters earlier in the month 26-22 with 15 for Hoffman. Today, Hoffman is far ahead with those definitely voting, getting 38 percent to 28 percent for Owens and 14 percent for Scozzafava in a poor third.
