PARRISH, Fla. -- A boy who was kidnapped at a bus stop in Manatee County, Fla., in front of horrified classmates was found alive Friday afternoon about 20 miles from the area he was taken from, according to authorities.

Manatee Sheriff Charlie Wells said the boy was found near a road unharmed, but a manhunt for his abductor continued.

Clay Moore, 13, was kidnapped at gunpoint shortly before 9 a.m., said Dave Bristow, a spokesman for the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.


Bristow called it a "horrific incident" because other children were witnesses and added that it appears to have been a random kidnapping.

The FBI arrived in the area to join the investigation Friday, according to the sheriff's office.

The culprit, who remains missing, is described as a Hispanic man who is about 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was driving a maroon truck.


Authorities said the abductor should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about the abduction is asked to call the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at 941-748-4501, the FDLE Missing Children Information Clearinghouse at 888-FL-MISSING or 911.

Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll committ suicide by cop.

Now they're saying it's possible the suspect is a male caucasion with a dark tan - still don't know for sure. Sounds like authorities are getting mixed signals from some of the eyewitnesses.

Well problem being you are talking about a group of kids waiting for the schoolbus when one of them is abducted at gun point. They were probably scared to death.
