VENTURA, Calif. — Federal, state and local authorities say they've arrested 68 people and seized dozens of guns and stolen cars in a Ventura County crime crackdown.

More than 200 law enforcement agents served search warrants Thursday at more than 30 locations.

Mike Hoffman of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says the raids capped a 15-month undercover investigation.

The probe initially was aimed at auto thieves but expanded as it went on.

The California Highway Patrol says 92 stolen vehicles were recovered and 65 guns and explosives were purchased by undercover agents, including assault weapons and alleged C-4 explosive.

Also seized were an estimated $100,000 worth of drugs and more than $14,000 in counterfeit money.
