After thieves broke into their house about two weeks ago, a Detroit couple installed outdoor security cameras.
Little did they know the cameras — and a loaded rifle — would come in handy so quickly.
The woman was home with her two children Monday night when she heard one of her doors being kicked in.

As three teenagers rushed into the house, Mom “didn’t have time to get scared,” she told WXYZ-TV in Detroit.
She warned the intruders she had a gun. Upon hearing their “no you don’t” reply, Mom figured they needed some convincing….and opened fire.
The teens’ entrance — and mighty swift exit — was all caught on the newly installed security cameras.

But wouldn’t you know that one of the teens, who dropped his pistol on the way out actually picked it up and tried walking back into the house?

No matter. His tenacity was rewarded with a second shotgun blast, and he took off again into the night. None of the suspects were hit by any gunfire.

And not only did this mother protect herself and her kids and their property, Detroit police arrested all three suspects shortly after their ill-advised home invasion. Police got the pistol, too, the woman said.
“I wasn’t feeling anything at the moment,” she told WXYZ of the confrontation. “I got scared afterward.”
Her daughter, after all, had a lot riding on her mom’s bravery, saying: “Oh no mommy, I don’t want them to take my piggy bank or my toys.”
