DEMOCRATS: GLOBAL WARMING WILL FORCE WOMEN INTO PROSTITUTION

A number House Democrats have written a resolution calling on Congress to recognize that climate change will hurt the plight of women more than men; driving women into “transactional sex” for survival — among other horrible fates.

Now, nothing causes more transactional sex than poverty, and few conditions bring more poverty to women around the world than limiting capitalism and free trade. One wonders if a poor woman in say, Bangladesh, would be happier and healthier with a car, an air conditioner and processed food rather than that light carbon footprint they now carry? I wish they had a choice.

So next time you hear how free-market types are anti-science, think about these selections from a resolution dreamed up by Rep. Barbara Lee and friends (viaThe Hill):

• Whereas food insecure women with limited socioeconomic resources may be vulnerable to situations such as sex work, transactional sex, and early marriage that put them at risk for HIV, STIs, unplanned pregnancy, and poor reproductive health
• Whereas the direct and indirect effects of climate change have a disproportionate impact on marginalized women such as refugee and displaced persons, sexual minorities, religious or ethnic minorities, adolescent girls, and women and girls with disabilities and those who are HIV positive.
• Whereas women are often underrepresented in the development and formulation of policy regarding adaptation to climate change, even though they are often in the best
  position to provide and consult on adaptive strategies:

Climate Change will also cause "poor reproductive health," (aka: no abortions)

Due to climate change, certain Congressional Democrats are warning that the lack of food and water could cause poor women into the clutches of prostitution and bartering sex-for food, as reported by the right-of-center magazine The Hill on April 29, 2013.

Leading the charge in warning the world of meteorological-induced prostitution, California's Representative Barbara Lee (D) has her signature first among twelve other Democrats on House Congressional Resolution 36 (H. Con. Res. 36).

Sounding the clarion call of sexual vis-a-vis, the congressional baker's dozen of booty-call-bartering says the results of Climate Change include:

"Drought and reduced agricultural output.

It says these changes can be particularly harmful for women."

H. Con. Res 36 warns that:

"Food insecure women with limited socioeconomic resources may be vulnerable to situations such as sex work, transactional sex, and early marriage that put them at risk for HIV, STIs, unplanned pregnancy, and poor reproductive health."

Background Info On Climate Change...

Of dubious credibility, climate change was initially a warning to the world in the 1970s of an impending Ice Age.

When glaciers failed to materialize on Miami, certain career grad students shifted gears in the '90s and warned anyone who would listen of impending Global Warming.

With the failure of the Greenland Ice Sheet to melt, l'apocalypse du jour has since become known under the all-encompassing tag of Climate Change.

Despite not having as much as a two-year Associates in either Climatology or Meteorology, the most prominent advocate of Climate Change is the former Vice President, Al Gore.

During the 2000 Presidential Election, Gore came within 500 votes of becoming the President of the United States.
