Scam alert Issued for new health care law

Scam alert issued on new health care law

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's top health official says scam artists are taking advantage of the new insurance law to peddle phony policies.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Tuesday she's writing state officials about a proliferation of scams involving the new health care law, which Obama signed March 23. Federal fraud investigators are also on the lookout.

Some of the hustlers are going door to door claiming there's a limited open-enrollment period to buy health insurance now. In fact, the big expansion of coverage won't come until 2014. And door-to-door salespeople are unlikely to be part of the plan. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory?id=10298368

Unfortunately scamming is something the Cubans are into. They had to back in Cuba to have that extra which is no different than those from the countries of the former Soviet Union. There are people have assimilated and stayed on the straight and narrow but there are many who have not. Cubans themselves will tell you that it is the ones who came from the 80's on who are the guilty ones as over 95% of those caught and convicted came during that time. Even the politicians are crooked. The City of Miami is almost bankrupt and Miami Dade County is not far behind but yet they both have given millions to build the Florida Marlins a ballpark in Little Havana.

The earlier Cubans who came were the ones Castro let out of prison? He must still be laughing over this.

Actually the ones you are referring to are the ones who came in the 80"s on the Mariel Boat Lift. In fact the 30th anniversary is coming up this year. Jimmy Carter was the one that allowed them to stay. There was an article in the Miami Herald about that on Sunday and the most common comment made was that was the end of civilization in Miami. Fidel did not only send us his prisoners but the mentally ill and other undesirables.
