Cops question 2 in case of man whose body was dismembered

The Cook County Sheriff’s office is questioning two suspects this morning in the hit-and-run death of a man whose severed legs were left on a south suburban street and whose torso was dumped about 12 miles away, officials said.

Another potential suspect is not in custody, said Bill Cunningham, a top aide to Sheriff Tom Dart. No criminal charges have been filed in the death of Michael Cranston, 60.


On Friday night, Blue Island police found a burning car that was later reported to sheriff’s investigators.
