The White Coat Waste Project, a taxpayer watchdog group, has provided The Gateway Pundit with new examples of Dr. Anthony Fauci facilitating cruel and unnecessary taxpayer-funded experimentation on dogs — this time in Tunisia.

Documents uncovered by the organization found that the National Institutes of Health division that is led by Dr. Fauci shipped part of a $375,800 grant to the lab in Tunisia to infest beagles with parasites.

The grant money funded a study published last month that detailed the horror inflicted upon the unlucky dogs.
One of the tortures that the beagles were subjected to included locking their heads in mesh cages filled with infected sand flies so that the parasite-carrying insects could eat them alive.
Beagles are often used for these tests because of their gentle nature, even towards those who harm them.
There was a photo of the test, which is sure to haunt anyone with a conscience.

According to their paper, the scientists starved the sand flies in order to make sure they were hungry enough to attack the dogs.

“The sand flies were then allowed to feed on the sedated dogs….” the report explains.

The nightmare for dogs did not stop there. The experimenters locked beagles alone in cages in the middle of the desert, isolated, for nine consecutive nights, to use as bait to attract more infectious sand flies. There is also a photo of this horror.

“Fauci’s dog testing debacle is now an international disgrace. Not only is Fauci paying for beagle abuse here at home, but he also shipped our tax dollars overseas to have beagles eaten alive by insects in an African lab with no oversight from U.S. authorities. Taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to foot the bill for this government waste and abuse. Congress must take action to investigate the full extent of Fauci’s dog testing debacle,” Mackie Burr, Director of Digital & Grassroots Development at the White Coat Waste Project said.

The article’s “Funding Statement” confirmed that it was given money by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and that NIH funding was given to the lab in Tunisia.
“EZ and AS received funding from the US National Institutes of Health,” according to the grant. “EZ” is one of the paper’s co-authors, Elyes Zhioua, from the Institut Pasteur de Tunis, Tunis, Tunisia. “AS” is Abhay Satoskar, from Ohio State University.
White Coat Waste Project pointed out that on the NIH’s website, Zhioua is listed as the co-PI on the grant along with Satoskar.
White Coat Waste Project, using the Freedom of Information Act, recently revealed that Fauci spent $424,000 to commission another study in which healthy beagles were given an experimental drug and intentionally infested with flies that carry a disease-causing parasite that affects humans.
The researchers are developing infections in 28 beagles and allowing them to suffer for three months before being euthanized.

The report from White Coat Waste Project explained that records show that the dogs were “vocalizing in pain” during the experiments.
The organization also noted that experimenters admit this investigational drug, “has been extensively tested and confirmed…in different animal models such as mice…Mongolian gerbils…and rhesus macaques….” Meaning that this painful torture is completely unnecessary.
In a letter sent to Fauci last week, Congressman Scott Perry and 14 colleagues cited their investigation and demanded answers about the project — including has much money has been spent to date, how many dogs have been killed, and why the NIH commissioned the deadly dog testing when the Food and Drug Administration has said it’s not required.
The letter was signed by Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Ken Calvert (R-CA), Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), Rodney Davis (R-IL), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Diane Harshbarger (R-TN), Yvette Herrell (R-NM), Fred Keller (R-PA), Brian Mast (R-FL), Bill Posey (R-FL), Greg Steube (R-FL), Glenn Thompson (R-PA), Randy Weber (R-TX) and Daniel Webster (R-FL).

During a congressional hearing last week, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) took a detour from the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and confronted former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Anthony Fauci on the "disgusting and evil" animal testing of dogs. "I want you to know Americans don't pay their taxes for animals to be tortured like this," the congresswoman told Fauci as she held up a photo of two beagle test subjects. "As a dog lover, I want to tell you that this is disgusting and evil, what you signed off on. The type of science you are representing, Mr. Fauci, is abhorrent and it needs to stop."
The said testing that used beagles as guinea pigs has been widely reported to be funded by NIAID under the National Institutes of Health (NIH), following a 2021 investigation series by the group White Coat Waste Project, a taxpayer watchdog group. "We should be recommending you to be prosecuted," Greene told Fauci. "We should be writing a criminal referral because you should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity. You belong in prison. That man does not deserve to have a license. It should be revoked and he belongs in prison."
The NIAID denied financing the experiment and the study's publisher issued a correction amid a firestorm of public attacks on the health agency and Fauci which, as demonstrated through Greene's remarks on Monday, continues today.
According to White Coat Waste, American taxpayers had paid $375,000 for experiments in Tunisia, where beagles six to eight months old obtained from the kennels of the Pasteur Institute of Tunis were bitten again and again by sandflies that were deprived of food for 24 hours. In one test, beagles were drugged and locked in cages. In another, dogs were stuck in cages outside overnight and used as fly bait. This exposure took place as part of research into zoonotic visceral leishmaniasis (ZVL), a disease carried by sand flies that can affect dogs and humans.

The author claims to have cited NIAID WRONGLY as a sponsor of the "BeagleGate" study

Back in October 2021, ZeroHedge wrote a chilling article on the White Coat Waste report. CNN then asked Fauci to appear for an interview and one of his staff members suggested late on Oct. 24 that Fauci pause any TV interviews "until we get a handle on this." The next morning, Fauci emailed 12 officials and asked them to "tell what grant or contract they are referring to." Within two hours, one replied that they might have identified the grant.
"Let us find out for sure if it is that grant and then let us take a look at what the experimental design is and importantly whether it has received the appropriate ethical and animal care consideration," Fauci replied in an email. "I want this done right away since we are getting bombarded by protests."
After another two hours, Abhay Satoskar, a professor of pathology and microbiology at Ohio State University and one of the researchers, emailed to say that NIAID had been mistakenly cited as a funder of the study and that he would seek a correction from the journal. Satoskar stated that it was "mistakenly cited because he was not clear of the true purpose of U.S. funding acknowledgment" and that the program in question had been funded only by the Pasteur Institute.
Satoskar, meanwhile asked the editor of the journal Shaden Kamhawi to correct the article. Kamhawi initially agreed but noted internally that she may have a conflict of interest as a NIAID employee. She then sent an email in a panic over the ZeroHedge article potentially inviting "a lot of noise and unwanted attention for Fauci. They also called us an illegitimate blog of no credibility," Kamhawi said.
When the story broke in 2021, the NIH scrubbed it from its database and then fed WaPo disinformation. In Nov. 2021, WaPo published an article saying that "the trapped-beagles study does not appear in a database of NIH-funded projects." The agency also insisted that they funded a separate study in Tunisia that involved a vaccine. It also claimed that the controversial experiment involving sand flies was not funded by the government. However, internal NIH communications were found to have no independent proof, aside from the principal investigator's statement that it did not fund the study.

An investigation by researchers affiliated with the White Coat Waste (WCW) Project has revealed that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is using taxpayer dollars to fund Chinese labs that are performing cruel experiments on animals without justifiable public health reasons.

According to the WCW Project's report, the NIH is currently providing at least one Chinese lab with over $2 million in U.S. tax dollars "to force-feed and inject puppies and other animals with experimental drugs in completely unnecessary and wasteful tests."

At least 28 animal labs in China are currently eligible to receive taxpayer funding from the NIH. One of these labs, Pharmaron, has an active contract with the NIH, which involves the agency paying the Chinese lab $124,200 to test experimental drugs on dogs.

The Food and Drug Administration does not mandate that human drugs be tested on dogs. This, the WCW Project notes, indicates that the experimentation on dogs is cruel, unnecessary and unlikely to provide researchers with sufficient data on the experimental pharmaceuticals.

The WCW Project's investigation notes that some of these experiments result in the Chinese lab killing beagles as young as one-day-old and detaching the spinal cords off other beagle puppies.

The WCW Project's investigation also warned that most of the 28 animal labs in China authorized to receive U.S. taxpayer funding are either connected to or regulated by the Chinese Communist Party and the People's Liberation Army. These labs may also be used to carry out dangerous virus experiments that can create epidemics.

"[Anthony] Fauci is the funding father of Uncle Sam's worst experiments on pets, and even though he's gone from government, we're still mopping up his animal testing mess. We recently killed a Fauci-funded plan to revive discredited kitten experiments that we got canceled under President [Donald] Trump, and we stopped Fauci's wasteful $1.8 million runny nose drug tests on puppies back in 2022," said Anthony Bellotti, the WCW Project founder and president.

"But our investigations and lawsuits have exposed how Fauci's legacy of wasteful spending on painful pet abuse lives on, including cruel COVID experiments on cats, $4 million 'maximum tolerated dose' drug tests on beagles, biting fly experiments on abandoned pet hounds, and painful tick experiments on puppies," continued Bellotti. "We applaud Rep. Gosar and his colleagues for their outstanding work to investigate and eliminate tens of millions in taxpayer-funded pet abuse that Fauci signed off on and set into motion."

Bellotti is referring to Rep. Paul Gosar's (R-AZ) open letter demanding that National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Dr. Jeane Marrazzo suspend all active funding that involves lab testing on dogs and cats.

Gosar sent this demand after receiving a report from the WCW Project that the NIAID had spent nearly $4.2 million on a contract for toxicity testing on dogs. Following an adjustment in June, the current cost of the contract was reduced to around $3.7 million. The testing is ongoing and scheduled to continue through April 2025 with support from U.S. taxpayers. (Related: NIH a money laundering front for bioweapons programs in China.)

"In light of new information contained in this letter, we request that all active NIAID funding for dog and cat research be immediately suspended until NIAID has reviewed dog and cat research approved by Fauci to identify and eliminate spending on unnecessary projects before any more taxpayer money and animals' lives are wasted," the letter reads.
