Drug agents seize flavored cocaine

MODESTO, Calif. (AP) - Federal drug agents have seized a stash of flavored cocaine in Modesto and say the product appears to be aimed at getting women and young users hooked.

An agent said Monday that about 1 1/2 pounds of cocaine seized during drug buys and while searching two residences in Modesto was laced with a variety of flavors, including strawberry, lemon, coconut and cinnamon.

It was the second time in the past year that agents have confiscated flavored cocaine during a bust in California's Central Valley. It also was found last June during raids in West Sacramento and Stockton.

During last week's bust in Modesto, agents arrested three people and seized firearms and other drugs.

Johnson and Johnson makes a good bubblegum flavored mouthwash. Its under the label called ACT.

I can't figure out a reason for flavored--isn't it sniffed or injected?

If it is snorted, it can be tasted in the back of the throat. Also, you can place it on your tounge. Cocaine can be absorbed and introduced into the body in a variety of ways. Same as other Opium based drugs. You can swallow, inject or smoke it and can be absorbed through the skin.

I would think that that sort of curiosity is what the marketing with the flavors is all about.

Thanks for the information Dixie--can be introduced in far more many ways than I knew.
