We didn't feel a thing down here on the border.
    Glad your ok redpony!
I've been through many quakes and they always get me going.
I read a story about a gal who was afraid of quakes but was visiting her friend in LA, at a stop light their car started shaking and the friend said OMG is that a quake? Her friend replied "I hope so I just had my car tuned up".

LOL WELL I HOPE IT WASNT THE CAR. DONT THINK ANYONE FELT THIS ONE ALL THE WAY DOWN BY THE BORDER. IT WAS CENTERED IN MILPITAS WHICH IS PRETTY CLOSE TO SAN FRANCISCO WHERE I AM. WE WILL HEAR LATER HOW FAR AWAY IT WAS FELT. ONLY 5.6 THOUGH SO NOT THAT EXTREME.

We don't have too many quakes here in GA.
We did have one a few years ago. It was early in the morning and I was still in bed asleep but it shook the bed and I thought it was my better half shaking the bed to wake me up, which he really would not do that. Anyway I realized that he had already left for work and when I came to my senses I know it was an earth quake. It was pretty funny at the time.

I grew up in SoCal and when I was stationed overseas in the Marines we slept in a large tent with a wooden floor, I woke up early one morning with guys running around and yelling and the floor was shaking. I thought what was the big deal it's only a earthquake, I got up to tell the others to calm down but it turned out we were in the middle of a hurricane.

I'll take earthquakes over hurricanes. Maybe that would scare illegals...oops forgot they get bad quakes in Mexico. Did anyone hear the newsconference with Gov Schwarzennegger when he was asked by that idiot Morones (border angels ??) why the illegals weren't treated "humanely" by fire fighters etc. during the fires? I just wanted to throw up. Like firefighters,or anyone for that matter would ask someone their legal status at a time like that. But these are the kind of people that spew the rhetoric....

Only a 5.6? Those are fun, you can pretend you are riding a bronco or surfing a killer set of swells.

It's even better when one happens at night when you are in bed with the "significant other" (wink, wink)

Now when they get up around 7.0, then you start worrying and looking for a safe place to hide.
