Economists warn of doom and gloom

The recession will be considerably longer and deeper than the Treasury has forecast, according to a majority of economists polled by the Financial Times.

Their views contrast with the Treasury and the Bank of England’s relative optimism in believing the economy will start to grow reasonably strongly in the second half of the year. Only a small minority of economists are confident that the green shoots of recovery will be visible by the end of this year.

Doom-mongerers include Michael Saunders of Citi, who says the UK is “in one of the worst recessions .... in the last 50 yearsâ€

While those tin hat, racist, isolationist, and whatever other name you want to call them members (like me), shake their heads saying we warned you! As the dumb founded look around and wonder what happened, this isn't what we wanted......this isn't what they promised.......I can say told ya so!!!!! For whatever good that will do. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people want this......not understanding what they will be loosing.

Suicide is difficult to understand. Our nation, and Western Civilization itself, is committing suicide.

LOL...no that I can understand......I can't understand why they willingly want to jump off a cliff and think death is somehow going to escape them when it's never worked that way before. That's the defination of insanity....doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Didn't they say study history etc in order to NOT make the same mistakes again. These people can't seem to run to it fast enough.

Well, I can't understand why the greatest nation on Earth would commit suicide. I can't understand why the greatest civilization the world has ever seen, Western Civilization, would kill itself. But that is exactly what's happening.

I think in most circumstances committing suicide is insanity too, but that is what our nation is doing. Maybe you can understand that, but I can't. I can recognize it as insanity, but I can't understand it.

I can't understand why the leaders of such a great nation, the successful businesses due to the education and help from America would toss the nation and it's people under the bus. Somehow, some way, they feel they must be exempt from the fall out. I just don't understand when we have seen so many great nations fall throughout history, that they somehow think they will be exempt from the same tragedy.

Maybe you can understand that, but I can't

I can understand it on an individual basis, but not on a national basis. I can decide for myself but would never expect anyone to join me...or even want them to.
