Dear X,

Opportunities for change like those we have in front of us right now don't come along very often.

As the 2008 elections reach a critical stage, I'm writing to urge you to do what you've done so often. Roll up your sleeves and help win elections that can pull America forward.

To encourage you to act immediately, if you give at least $35, $50 or more today to help elect Democrats, leading House Democrats are matching your gift 2-to-1, your $50 donation would be worth $150 effectively tripled in its impact to help Democrats win big in November.

Contribute $35, $50 or more today and your gift will be matched 2-to-1 by House Democrats

Victories in 2008 can put in place strong Democratic leaders who will help end the war, achieve universal health care, challenge poverty, and reduce global warming. By strengthening our hold on Congress, we can take away the ability that special interests still have to throw obstacles in the path of progress. And in order to seize this historic opportunity, I'm asking you to step forward again and stand with our strong Democratic candidates so we can celebrate Democratic victories together.

Contribute $35, $50 or more today and your gift will be matched 2-to-1 by House Democrats

The skilled, savvy and committed political organizers at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee have developed a detailed plan. With our help, they can turn Republican open seats into big changes.

Let's make the most of it.

Sincerely,

Senator John Edwards

P.S. Your decision to act right now can send a powerful message to Democratic candidates working round the clock to win 2008's closest races. And if you act now before the May 31st deadline, your gift will be matched 2-to-1.
I just had to post this. House Democrats will match my donation 2-1. Umm, where is their 2-1 money coming from? Can they do this? Is it even legal?

I got a laugh out of the last bolded paragraph, especially the "special interests" throwing obstacles in "our" path to progress. He means special interests like Laraza, Maldef and the other OBLs, right?

Oh and how about this gem? "Victories in 2008 can put in place strong Democratic leaders who will help end the war, achieve universal health care, challenge poverty, and reduce global warming." 1. They promised to end the war 2 years ago when they took over Congress. Didn't.
2. Universal health care is a failure, everyone will get screwed royally.
3. Challenge poverty? Can't do that with 20 + million illegal aliens sucking up free bennies and putting Americans in the poorhouse! 4. Global warming? HAHAHA PLEASE!
