    yeah but the prices in California need to fall even more to become more align with the rest of the country. From what i hear a 3 bed 2 bath in Cali could sell for as much as 300-400K. in texas i could get the same house for 145K

    Try 700-800 K james. This same house in Texas would cost around 200K.
    300-400K might get you into a condo in most areas.

    I live near the coast in CA, single family homes of around 1500 square feet can be bought for 300-400K, in my neighborhood there are a bunch for sale in that range.
