Enrollment may be down at Clark County schools

LAS VEGAS — Officials say enrollment in Clark County schools could be down by about 2,000 students.
It would be the first enrollment decline since the 1983-84 school year.
On Tuesday the school district had 309,144 students. That's down from 311,240 a year ago.
School officials had expected enrollment to reach 313,688 students this year.
The actual tally to determine state funding and school staffing was to be taken on Friday. That count will be announced Monday.
District officials say they'll track demographic trends to see whether this year marks the start of a new trend of flat or declining enrollment or is simply a blip.

That's a HUGE savings for taxpayers in that district. I wonder how many of the 2000 students' families were paying taxes?
