The Register ran a three-part series about the deportation of illegal immigrants who have been convicted of crimes - and who are largely picked up in checks in county and city jail facilities.

Now that you’ve had a chance to read it (and see a video story, which you can get by clicking here), The Issue wanted to get a sense of what readers think are effective tools for immigration enforcement.

Hence, our new poll:

After reading this week’s series on criminal deportations, what do you think is the most effective way to stop illegal immigration across the U.S.-Mexico border?
deport undocumented immigrants 144-32% of all votes
build a fence 72 -16% of all votes
more worksite enforcement 164 -36% of all votes
put diplomatic pressure on Mexico to create more jobs at home 3 -37% of all votes
there is no effective way to stop migration 42 -9% of all votes
Total Votes: 455
