Thread: FAA to outsource jobs to India

Another Indian outsourcer is now involved in the outsourcing of American government jobs to India, and these jobs involve administration of the Federal Aviation Adminstration, jobs that if done badly could kill American citizens. Since the Washington DC Metro Train crash may have been caused by computer systems that were outsourced to India, one may want to ask if the lives of American citizens are worth the risk:

OST awarded FAA Human Resources Management and Technical Support Services contract
Washington, D.C., March 2009 - Optimal Solutions and Technologies (OST, Inc.), an emerging information technology services provider, has been awarded a contract to provide services to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the Human Resources (AHR) line of business. The Human Resources Management and Technical Support Services contract is part of the FAA focus on modernization and standardization of applications, databases, and processes. Under the program, OST will consolidate and reengineer AHR applications and databases, and design a web interface to allow efficient access to human resources data.

OST will recommend and carry out steps for modernization of AHR applications; design and implement the new consolidated database; integrate a user friendly web interface; port AHR data to the new database; and provide ongoing support for the system. In addition, OST will establish industry best practices and standard processes to improve system performance, facilitate system maintenance, and enable AHR employees to more easily access the information they need. According to Ron Rhodes, OST Director, “OST’s solution delivery processes support the FAA’s goals of increasing quality and efficiency through a broad modernization effort.â€

SOUNDS like a real necessity!... I always wondered.. IF the 'WORLD' hates us because of our "POLICIES"..then why are we giving them the 'roadmap' to our 'vulnerable under belly'?

For the same reasons they come to the US to get educated then once educated damn us for being uneducated? Or why do they come here for jobs and once they have jobs they work to destroy American's jobs? Why do they flee the wretched lives of their home countries to come here and once here proclaim their home countries superior to ours?

As someone who has logged hundreds of hours of air travel, I can now say that I am officially AFRAID of getting on an aircraft. There are several programs for AMERICAN college students to get help with the problems that exist within our air travel. For instance, I have been a long time supporter of fixing our air travel routes. Right now, we use "airways" that zig-zag an airplane from point A to point B. It would save fuel to be able to have a DIRECT route using GPS technology. Is India going to be the ones who help implement this? There are way too many errors already with programming code to implement such a program, let alone the fact that if people that don't have a firm knowledge (like India) with FAA database programs, that this will cause HUGE problems. ESPECIALLY someone that doesn't have a complete knowledge of English. I do not like this one bit!
