Family Escapes As Gas Explosion Levels Home
News from Cincinnati, OH.
http://www.wcpo.com/news/2006/local/03/13/house.html
A family of four escaped just moments before a natural gas explosion leveled their Middletown house Monday morning, police said.
The home is near the intersection of Catalpa and Crescent. The explosion happened around 11 a.m.
Crews on the scene told Channel 9's Deb Silverman that a plumber was working inside the home when he apparently hit a gas line.
After seeing bubbles in the water and smelling the natural gas, the plumber told the family of four to get out of the home immediately.
As soon as the five people got out of the home, it blew up, Silverman reported.
No one was hurt.
The explosion left the home in a pile of rubble. The force of the explosion blew in the back door of a nearby resident, he told 9News.
