Boehner Opposes King’s Gun Control Bill

Everyone in Congress agrees that a tragedy such as Saturday’s Arizona shooting can’t be allowed to happen again. But they disagree about how to guarantee that. House Speaker John Boehner opposes a gun control bill that New York Republican Rep. Pete King, chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, plans to offer in response to the disaster, The Hill reports.

King’s proposal is to forbid people from carrying guns within 1,000 feet of members of Congress. Boehner spokesman Michael Steele says the speaker won’t support King’s legislation.

The office of Majority Leader Eric Cantor says he is withholding judgment until King completes his bill.

“Mr. Cantor believes it’s appropriate to adequately review and actually read legislation before forming an opinion about it,â€

I have my opinion already formed Mr Cantor.

    NO..NO...NO...NO

No to anymore gun control legislation. You do not protect anyone but criminals. Because of what one or so mentally challenged INDIVIDUALS do, does not and should not limit all the citizens with more BS from you or anyone else in DC. You are using this as a way and means of limiting MY LIBERTIES.

Why do you think people are so frustrated and angered and at their ends. It is because of your kind of thinking.

So people are killed by hit and run drivers or drunk drivers. I guess we could take the cars away from people so as to save these lives. Hey we could help on pollution too.

These people DO NOT give a shit about individuals lives, but only a way to get their gun control laws into place.

By the way,I already placed phone calls to my Senators and told them not to accept any legislation on gun control after this tragedy happened. I knew that would be the first thing they tried to do

How many thousands of Americans have been murdered by illegal aliens over the decades? Yet how many politicians have spent time and efforts trying to protect Americans from these criminals? What a bunch of bums.

It looks a bit hypocritical of the political elites to concern themselves with their security yet ignore the security that they are constitutionally charged with discharging for the safety of ALL Americans, not just the elites.

It is amazing how these idiots think they can work in areas not of their concern, yet refuse to work in areas that are their responsibility.
