FISA Bill has Vast NEW Surveillance Powers Forcing Businesses to Become NSA Spies
This FISA Bill would impact ALIPAC [Summary says "any company]
Summary
The Senate is set to vote on the FISA reauthorization bill on April 19 that includes a provision forcing any company or individual that provides ANY communications service to give its electronic data to of the National Security Agency (NSA) upon request. Critics are urging people to call their Senators to stop the passage of the bill.
https://needtoknow.news/2024/04/terr...ome-nsa-spies/
The Section 702 provision of the FISA renewal bill requires any company that that hosts ANY form of communication service to surrender surveillance data to the NSA.
An amendment from the House intel committee was passed by the House that vastly expands the universe of entities from WIFI service companies that can be compelled to assist the NSA but now also includes any company that provides equipment on which communications are transmitted.
This may include commercial landlords, barber shops, laundromats, fitness centers, hardware stores, dentist’s offices… the list goes on and on.
Any of the companies compelled to hand over data to the NSA would be under a gag order and the targeted individual would not be informed of the spying.

Update 4/19/24
Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) is a law that is meant to target foreign adversaries, but often surveils Americans’ private communications without a warrant.
https://needtoknow.news/2024/04/86-h...-of-americans/
An amendment requiring a warrant was proposed by Republicans in the House.
The amendment for a warrant, overwhelmingly supported by the American people, lost in the House vote.
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, and House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik joined with the traitors and voted against the warrant requirement.
See list below for the 86 Republicans [a LOT] who voted down the warrant amendment, that is they voted FOR warrantless surveillance of Americans:
