Florida State Fans: What's the deal?

I know a little about the Simenoles' history and such. But I don't understand these photos.
It reminds me of when fans at a soccer match shouted, "Osama, Osama!".
Is it "proper" to be as offensive as possible in the psyche of most sports fans? I dunno...

Is this the norm at FSU games? I ask because I didn't see one person in these photos of "African extraction".

    TheFomorian,

I doubt if any of us on this forum know what is going on at FSU. I suggest you write the university and ask them directly.

    Riiiiight Dixie,
I didn't think you were a serious FSU fan, but now, how could I be wrong?

There are a few people on this board from Florida, and big fans, I presume.

    FSU is my Alma Mater.

    I'm a "Nole" :P

Well, the Seminole's Mascot, Chief Osceola of the Seminole Indian Tribe, always wears "war paint" and a lot of fans do too.

I'm quite sure it has to do with that.

My son and son-in-law informs me that I can't be a Georgia ,Georgia Tech and Seminoles fan all at same time . I like Tech first, then Ga. or the Noles second . But I'm really not a real enthusiastic fan of any sport .

Go Dogs, Jackets and Noles !

Thanks for clearing that up, LUC.
