How the Dow Jones industrial average fared Friday

Stocks advanced Friday after the Labor Department said that U.S. employers added more jobs in February than economists had forecast. Both the Dow and the Standard & Poor's 500 rose for a sixth straight day.
The Dow gained 67.58 points, or 0.5 percent, to 14,397.07.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 6.92 points, or 0.5 percent, to 1,551.18.
The Nasdaq rose 12.28 points, or 0.4 percent, to 3,244.37.
For the week:
The Dow is up 307.41, or 2.2 percent.
The S&P 500 is up 32.98, or 2.2 percent.
The Nasdaq composite is up 74.63, or 2.4 percent.
For the year:
The Dow is up 1,292.93 or 9.9 percent.
The S&P 500 is up 124.99, or 8.8 percent.

The Nasdaq composite is up 224.86, or 7.5 percent.
