Ground under Fukushima Unit 4 sinking, structure on verge of complete collapse

Though the mainstream media has long since abandoned the issue, the precarious situation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power facility in Japan is only continuing to worsen, according to a prominent Japanese official. During a recent interview, Mitsuhei Murata, the former Japanese Ambassador to both Switzerland and Senegal, explained that the ground beneath the plants Unit 4 is gradually sinking, and that the entire structure is very likely on the verge of complete collapse.

This is highly concerning, as Unit 4 currently holds more than 1,500 spent nuclear fuel rods, and a collective 37 million curies of deadly radiation that, if released, could make much of the world completely uninhabitable. As some Natural News readers will recall, Unit 4 contains the infamous elevated cooling pool that was severely damaged following the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that struck on March 11, 2011.

According to the Secretary of former Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan, the ground beneath Unit 4 has already sunk by about 31.5 inches since the disaster, and this sinking has taken place unevenly. If the ground continues to sink, which it is expected to, or if another earthquake of even as low as a magnitude six occurs in the region, the entire structure could collapse, which would fully drain the cooling pool and cause a catastrophic meltdown.

If Unit 4 collapses, the worse case scenario will be a meltdown, and a resultant fire in the atmosphere. That will be the most unprecedented crisis that man has ever experienced. Nobody will be able to approach the plants as all will have melted down and caused a big fire, said Murata during the interview. Many scientists say if Unit 4 collapses, not only will Japan lie in ruin, but the entire world will also face serious damages.

Because there are 31 nuclear units of a similar type to Unit 4 in the U.S., the American government has been downplaying the disaster to protect its own reputation, alleges Murata. This is, in fact, the primary reason why so little has been reported on the severity of Fukushima following the disaster. The American empire, in other words, does not want the world, nor the American people, to know that there is the possibility of literally dozens of Fukushima situations occurring on American soil, should the right disaster situations arise.

More from the they are not telling us department at Fukushima

    by Gaye Levy

I was all set today to put together a post on prepping when this news bit came in indicating that local law enforcement officials in the greater Seattle area are acquiring federally provided radiation-detection devices. Supposedly, these devices will be used as a tool to thwart the smuggling of a radioactive weapons in to Puget Sound. The article was titled Police outfitted to detect radioactivity on Puget Sound. More likely, these detectors are going to be used to test the day-glow salmon migrating in from Japan. Is S.W. being facetious? Well yes, a little. But just a little. I may have mentioned back in March that one of the first things I did after the Fukushima nuclear disaster was purchase a case of albacore tuna since it was my belief that going forward, my beloved tuna would be contaminated. So local authorities going out to test the waters so to speak? Not a bit surprising to me.
I find that there is a sudden surge of alarming news on all fronts about the goings on over in Japan:
So what is the point of passing on all of this bad news?
My intent is to encourage your to continue your efforts to acquire food for long term storage but also to be careful very careful in your selection of food products. In addition to avoiding canned fish which likely will have come from Asian waters, I would suspect any food imports of the canned or frozen type that come from Japan and the surrounding areas. BTW, the FDA banned milk from the area around Fukushima back in March but has been slow to target any other food group. It is my understanding that fruit, vegetables and green tea will be banned soon.

New Super Typhoon Heading For Fukushima Packing 190 MPH Winds

    Saturday, October 19, 2013 5:47

Say hello to Super Typhoon Francisco.

Weather Channel, Oct. 18, 2013 at 9:45p ET: Super Typhoon Francisco Brushes Guam, Could Threaten Japan Next Week [...] A tropical cyclone is dubbed a “super typhoon” when maximum sustained winds reach at least 150 mph – the equivalent of a Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale. [...] Conditions appear favorable for development [... allowing] the typhoon to strengthen in intensity, possibly to 160 mph (Category 5 status) over the next few hours. After that, Francisco will move into a region of cooler ocean temperatures, which cause the typhoon to weaken. Francisco may threaten southern Japan early next week, however the current forecast from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center indicates that the typhoon will be much weaker by that point. That said, intensity forecasts at five days out in time can be highly uncertain [...]

Accuweather, Oct. 18, 2013: Francisco gained strength late Friday afternoon and was classified as a Super Typhoon by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, which estimated one minute average sustained winds of 135 knots (155 mph) with gusts to 165 knots (190 mph). This would classify Franciso as a Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Scale. As strong as Francisco currently is, continued strengthening is expected over the next 24-48 hours [...] The typhoon is likely to threaten western Japan by the middle of next week. Francisco has developed in a similar area to where former Typhoon Wipha formed last week.

It is feared that Francisco will follow in Wipha’s path. Wipha just hit Fukushima with 100+ MPH winds and drenching rains. Fukushima experienced a huge spike in radiation afterwards. Stronium ratings in ground water spiked 6,500 fold in one day. Francisco is a stronger storm. Not sure how strong he will be when he gets that far north but Japan is being hammered with Typhoons and that is not good news for Fukushima. TEPCO had better get its act together, the world had better get its act together. -Mort
