Gates Suggests Pay Cuts
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, has long avoided using reductions in military pay and active duty benefits to reduce costs.
However pressure from the White House to make $400B in cuts may have forced Gates' hand.
In the past Sec. Gates has sought to squeeze the excess cost from TRICARE, by asking to increase annual premiums and fees for military retirees and to tax their employers if retirees opt out of employer provided health care.
Although unwilling to say where these compensation cuts may occur, the fact is Gates has now put military pay on the table.

Just
Just decommission the oldest Aircraft Carrier or the 2 oldest ones and do not replace them. We no longer need these massive floating cities as the Cold War ended years ago...We still have 8 left even I believe which is about 8 more than everyone else. lol
But better yet, cut the size of Federal Government and reduce salaries and benefits there...
Do not take from military personel. That is just unacceptable.

Cut every member of Congress, cut the travel of the President.
Cut every retired member of Congress' retirement pay.
Then if that is not enough, cut them again.

Cut the sending of money to third world countries and stop the payoffs to mexico. That should more than cover the debt and military cuts.

The billions that is used to restore other Countries around the world must be first eliminated, next stop sending millions of dollars to people that use the money to plot against Americans, and strengthen their military to fight against us as they hibernate terrorists and increase nuclear bombs. And provides border crossings for illegal aliens from around the world...This alone would get our Country back to normal quickly and we would not have to cut benefits for our Troops that has strive daily for the last ten years to protect our Country and citizens.

What people dont realize right now an E4 corporal in the military today quallifies for food stamps.Thats a fact,i dont know how much more they can cut.I guess pretty soon they will be working for nothing. If the military wants to treat them like cheap labor i wouldnt blame anybody for joining up.But thats the way its always been they goverment puts you in harms way then dont want to take care of you. They have the cheapest and poorest doctors now in VA hospitals. Most doctors in VA dont even have a practising license but i guess thats good enough for a soldier that puts their life on the line.
