CAMILLUS, N.Y. - Camillus Cutlery, a century-old manufacturer of knives for American soldiers and Boy Scouts, closed its doors for good this week, leaving its last few workers without jobs and a village without its identity.
Camillus Cutlery was a victim of tough competition from foreign manufacturers, said David Barrack. Company started in 1902.

A 145-year-old plate and sheet mill in New Bedford, Massachusetts is closing, an apparent victim of foreign competition and soaring energy costs. The 85 employees at Revere Copper Products were informed Monday.
