Black Friday went off without a hitch for the most part in Amarillo, thanks to many safety procedures local retailers put into place. However, many shoppers in other parts of the country weren't as lucky.

In the mad dash for good deals, it wasn't all holiday cheer. Some people decided they would literally do anything to get their hands on a hot item.

Black Friday bargains brought about some pretty bad behavior by shoppers around the country.

In an L.A. suburb Walmart, cell phone video shows the crowd screaming in pain, after a woman allegedly fired pepper spray into the crowd to keep people away from the merchandise she was trying to get her hands on. It left at least 20 people with minor injuries.

Eyewitness Juan Castro says, "There was a lot of people who got it in their eyes and it was burning. They were screaming and crying. It was bad."

In another pepper spray incident at a Walmart in Kinston, North Carolina, an off-duty officer used the stuff to break up a fight.

Eyewitness Gordon Jackson says, "He was raining it over the whole crowd so that it would rain down on their heads. Some of it got on my granddaughter and in her face and eyes and she had to go to the emergency room because she's asthmatic."

More problems at Walmart, this time in Bentonville, Arkansas, where shoppers were evacuated after the store received a bomb threat just before 10 this morning.

The bomb squad was also called to a Walmart near Phoenix, after an explosive device was found in the break room refrigerator.

Meanwhile, a man was stabbed outside of a Macy's in Sacramento, California, after a confrontation between two groups of shoppers.

More chaos broke out at a mall in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where gunshots fired early this morning sent shoppers fleeing.

But the Black Friday frenzy wasn't just about battles for bargains. That's because an armed robbery in the parking lot of a Walmart in Northern California sent one person to the hospital, after they were shot for their purchases.

The shopping madness continues tomorrow with "Small Business Saturday," and two days later with "Cyber Monday."
