Former Fox News host Greta Van Susteren suggested that the FBI could have tipped off CNN before the arrest of Roger Stone, after a dramatic video emerged which featured audio of FBI agents banging on Stone’s door.

Stone was arrested at 6am at his home in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla on a seven-count indictment which includes one count of obstruction, five counts of making false statements and one count of witness tampering.
Video of the raid was released by CNN as soon of news of the arrest emerged. It contains audio of an FBI agent shouting, “FBI open the door” while banging on the door.

Van Susteren immediately took to Twitter to claim that the FBI “obviously tipped off CNN”.

“CNN cameras were at the raid of Roger Stone…so FBI obviously tipped off CNN…even if you don’t like Stone, it is curious why Mueller’s office tipped off CNN instead of trying to quietly arrest Stone;quiet arrests are more likely to be safe to the FBI and the person arrested,” she tweeted.

“Tipping CNN off so that it was there w/ its cameras is an issue worth exploring,” she added.

She later acknowledged that others could have tipped off the FBI, including Stone himself.

“Upon reflection, there are others who could have tipped off CNN …others knew, maybe even Stone suspected it and tipped them off…as an aside, if I worked for a news org and had the tip, I would have sent cameras,” tweeted Van Susteren.

Stone will make an initial appearance later Friday at the federal courthouse in Fort Lauderdale. He has vowed not to testify against President Trump.

CNN producer David Shortell admitted that he was “waiting” outside Roger Stone’s house at 5am, an hour before FBI agents and police arrived to arrest the former Donald Trump associate.

Stone was arrested at 6am at his home in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla on a seven-count indictment which includes one count of obstruction, five counts of making false statements and one count of witness tampering.

However, Shortell subsequently gave an interview with New Day host Alisyn Camerota during which he admitted, while smiling throughout, that “we were here at 5am waiting for whatever was going to happen – it was dark – 6am just after the hour about a half dozen police vehicles with sirens….pulled in front of this Ft. Lauderdale home where Roger Stone lives.”

When questioned as to why he was outside Stone’s home over an hour before the arrest when neither Stone or his attorney even knew the raid was coming, Shortell claimed that his “reporter’s instinct” was to thank and that he “thought maybe something was happening” because of “unusual Grand Jury activity in Washington DC yesterday”.

Shortell also revealed that CNN reporters were the only journalists at the house when the arrest was made.

Earlier, former Fox News host Greta Van Susteren tweeted that the “FBI obviously tipped off CNN” before the raid, but later walked it back, claiming anyone could have tipped them off.

Shortell also commented on the heavily armed presence of the FBI agents and police officers involved in the arrest, stating that they were wearing “tactical vests” and carrying “large weapons”.

(Natural News) In his first statement after being arrested during a pre-dawn raid on his Fort Lauderdale, Fla. home Friday on seven counts including lying to Congress and obstruction, longtime GOP political operative Roger Stone had nothing but scorn for special counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation.

“This country is literally run by a rogue prosecutor who has more power than the president,” he told his lawyer Grant Smith after first inquiring about the safety of his wife following the raid in which federal agents rushed into his home with guns drawn.
As reported by Infowars, Stone, who is the latest Trump associate to be charged by Mueller for alleged crimes other than criminal collusion with Russia — the special counsel’s initial mandate — noted that America has become the “new Soviet Union.”
He also noted that the one news organization present for the arrest was CNN, indicating the cable news channel was tipped off that FBI and other federal law enforcement officials were preparing to arrest him. Stone was released shortly after his arrest on a $250,000 bond and spoke exclusively to Alex Jones and Infowars.
Of the charges filed against him by Mueller, Stone said, “There’s no Russia collusion, there’s no WikiLeaks collaboration, there’s no allegation that I received anything from WikiLeaks or [the site’s founder] Julian Assange or anyone else.”
Regarding the allegations of lying to Congress, Stone said if anything he had some lapses in memory which he said under normal circumstances would be “inconsequential.”

Others heavily criticized Stone’s arrest.

The White House pushed back against mainstream media (MSM) attempts to link the Stone arrest to the president, with spokeswoman Sarah Sanders noting that Stone has advised several Republican campaigns and presidents in the past.
She also lashed out at the double standards, noting that other suspected liars like Hillary Clinton, James Comey, and James Clapper have never been charged despite evidence suggesting they should have been.
