Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and President Barack Obama seem intent on denying that foreign terrorism is a threat to the United States while taking half-measures that leave our borders undefended, says Michigan Republican Rep. Pete Hoekstra.

Newsmax.TV asked the ranking Republican on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence whether Napolitano is the right person to be Homeland Security secretary, in light of her belated admission that her massive bureau failed to prevent a man whose name appeared in a terrorism database to board a U.S.-bound flight from Amsterdam.

We are in a very dangerous situation. This country is as divided as before the Civil War. The radical leftists of the Administration have forced this and there is no gray line in between. Independents are fleeing from the left as well as democrats. Reading comments on various blogs, including HuffPo, you find a disillusionment setting in and people are getting angry. Of course, the far left thinks Obama needs to act more like Stalin. I'm certainly thankful that they are a minority among dems and there are many good patriotic democrats who feel duped.

Janet Incompatiano's floundering around with our security only makes people more nervous and will deepen the divide between those who love this Nation and the far left who thinks terrorists are "victims." I'm beginning to think the Administration thinks that way.

In all my many years, I've never imagined such incompetent and radical (communists, socialists) would every be serving in the highest positions in the land. It's surreal. For the first time, I actually feel real fear for the future of the Nation.

"American Express has 75 million members and they keep track of every potential misuse of each card and will call you, as they recently did me but the U.S. govt. can't keep track of 1 terrorist out of a stated 500,000." Ernest Istook--Heritage Foundation.
