Thread: In the Treaty of Paris were the 13 American Colonies

In the Treaty of Paris were the 13 American Colonies recognized as 13 independent sovereign entities or were they considered one nation? I believe that the Treaty of Paris recognized not one but 13 independent and sovereign nations.
If this is true the United States of America (The Union) was never a country or a nation. What we have been taught is our country is really a government that was created by the member nations for their mutual benefit.
The United Nations is not a country, it is a international body created by sovereign nations. Any nation may voluntarily join this body and any nation has the right to leave whenever they wish. Likewise, the independent nations of the united States are bound to the Union as long as they wish to participate. If you belong to the Kiwanis Club and you felf that the organization is not following its founding charter, would you have the right to quit and join the Rotary Club?
If the Kiwanis Club had a provision in the Charter that prohibited you from ever leaving their club, would that provision be an abridement of your unalienable rights.
