    Has a Libertarians ever gained power in any modern nation?

    Has a Libertarian Party ever achieved power in any modern nation?
    I am curious to see what it would look like and whether it would be functional in any practical sense. We've seen examples of socialism that have been put into practice around the world. Has libertarianism ever been tried on a national scale? Would it work or would a libertarian nation collapse and descend into anarchy?
    [b] If we do not insist on Voter ID, how can we stop illegals from voting?

    And I wonder why no libertarian has responded to this thread as they are usually so outspoken.

    Has a libertarian party ever won a national election

    Has a libertarian party ever won a national election anywhere in the world? I am curious to see how that kind of system would function in practice. All I've heard so far is theory.

    Maybe the hippie communes of the 1960's were the only examples of libertarianism in action. What happened to these communes?

    Has any nation ever put the Libertarian program into effect?
    Would it work? Has it ever happened?

    But wait, perhaps we do have examples of libertarianism in action. The anarchy in Katrina or the French Revolution are the closest examples I can find of libertarianism in action. Can anybody think of other examples?
    Mad Max movies or The Postman, perhaps?
