Thread: 'Hate incident' in city

Mmmm.....just as we are about to sit down and enjoy the leftovers of a picnic roast turned into BBQ Pork sandwiches. Oh well, lastnights dinner did nothing to us, we all seem fine, so on with our pork dinner!

Wow! You guys sure make it tough to participate here....It seems like you're so anxious to fight that anybody will do! Let me continue to clarify my position and intentions for ya!
First, I agree wholeheartedly that it is ridiculous to call tossing a ham sandwich in front of some kids a hate crime. I do however recognize that to them it was akin to placing dog poop next to my dinner and laughing in my face about it. That was why I mentioned setting good examples for our children and showing tolerance for other faiths. No where, no how did I imply I pandered to Muslims or placed them above my own beliefs. You apparently read that into my post on your own. Maybe you just didn't like my subtle suggestion to tone down the condescending, anger filled posts a bit? I was hoping you'd realize that with the current push this week in Washington to make the public more aware that literally thousands of new potential member/activists will be looking in to see if this is an organization they can become a part of. The last thing they need to see is people lashing out at anything that moves and trashing anything that someone outside the established discussion group offers up .

Secondly, AmericanElizabeth, contrary to your statement, " I do not identify myself by my ethnicity nor race", I think you already did when you wrote,
"We need to start enforcing that if the rules apply to Christians, and/or the majority Americans (meaning white, you know, those double standards out there), then they have to apply to EVERYONE. " Maybe I'm guilty of reading between the lines and if so I apologize.

As for your statement, "As for this issue with beliefs, you can quote all you want, but where does Christ say we should sit back and get walked all over?" I'm glad you asked! I'll excercise your invitation and quote once more from one Christian to another (?). Have a peek at Matthew 18 again. Read verses 21-35 and hopefully that will answer your question.

Concerning your remarks focused quite directly at me GreggreatAmerican, "WhatEver" is usually interpreted, "who gives a s--t", which clearly means your opinion (in your mind) means everything and mine means nothing. Thanks for clarifying! I won't waste my time further on this discussion board, as you subtly reccommended in saying, "As to your appearance here on this discussion board, I would tend to think as of yet its just that an appearance. ".

Good luck to you both and I hope you can figure out a way to help the cause other than discussion board banter about pork. Maybe you'll be kinder to the next "guest" ALIPAC invites here, because if all this appears to be about is anger and animosity then the cause here is lost already.

If longevity of American family geneology rates as "seniority" insomuch as who speaks first or loudest here, then hopefully the Charter from King George of England to my family deeding the land on which I sit as I write this also gives me and mine the right to speak!

AS I WELCOME YOUR OPINION AND YOUR REMARKS, I DONT WELOCME ANY THING THAT SETELES ON THE LINES OF JUST GIVEING UP FOR THE CAUSE…. And I certainly will never sit down to someone who says I will become the minority in the this GREAT UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Groups like the ACLU and NAACP never take a second look at the way America became America, or where the country is heading with all this frivolous banter about race .


Its real easy to just give up, look the other way and just say this will all go away but these kind of problems will never go away, as long as we keep letting law suits like this go on .

So some kids have apologized for the actions of others and he still feels it's not enough.

How many people out there had a bad experience in middle school. Come on I know that it's more than that. Right, everyone has had a bad experience in middle school, high school, guess what even the popular people. You can either let it control your life and become like the killer from VA tech this week or you can use it help you grown stronger.

People are picked on, beat up, scared so bad they skip school, had their books stolen, clothing stolen, jewerly stolen and those aren't hate crimes. Sad when one child is worth more than another in society's eyes.

Debswild, it is true, so often when many of us were kids (ehem, a "little" bit ago), that our own parents would listen to us about how bad a day we had, sympathize, then tell us "you need to toughen up, there will always be someone, saying something not so nice".

And....we did. Now however, there is this generation, and sub-cultures within our own that insist on everything and everyone to be perfectly nice to them, and always "fair" to them. Yet, when the tables are turned in some cases, as the incident here in Portland, Oregon, those wanting the fairness, suddenly say things like "well, it's just kids being kids, or, they were just being bad girls".

We cannot live with double standards, and we cannot allow hurt feelings to dictate common sense in our country. People need to toughen up and realize, there will always be somebody, saying something you may not like, and you just have to learn to get over it.

I have been lurking for quite a while and finally thought I should jump in on the conversations.

the news reported two kids in cincy where shooting a BB gun on a school bus and hittting kids in the back of the heads, now those sweet little boys where suspende for ten days and may face expulision they took the Gun, and gave it to the dad .
A child places a hamsam on a table and my go to jail for a hate crime

In our present Orwellian reality, the boys with the ham committed a thought crime, which is far greater in the minds of Big Brother's minions than any crime of violence.
