BIC USA will cut 29 jobs, close S.C. plant in 2010

FOUNTAIN INN — BIC USA Inc. will cut 29 jobs in South Carolina when it closes its plant in Fountain Inn in June 2010.

The plant makes WiteOut correction fluid and ink for its line of highlighters and roller pens.

WiteOut production will move to a third-party manufacturer in Asia and the ink production will be absorbed by other BIC plants outside the United States, the company said.

BIC is based in Shelton, Conn., and makes pens, lighters and shaving razors.
