Calif. beaches to get safety signs in English and Spanish

SAN FRANCISCO – California's beach goers soon will learn about rip tides and other dangers en Espanol as well as English when 1,900 educational signs sprout on public access points along the coast.
The signs, planned to go up over the next few months, will alert visitors to potential dangers along the shore.

State officials say drowning is one of the leading causes of death in state parks. They're concerned that with proposed cuts to the seasonal life guard budget, those numbers could go up.
But research shows that when swimmers are educated about dangerous ocean conditions and take safety precautions such as remaining near life guards, their chances of drowning drop dramatically.

We need to challenge the California legislature. Who is authorizing this and on what basis? Why not in Chinese too, what the hades is going on?

How much did the 1,900 signs cost?
They are called 'educational signs'--so did the money come from school funding?

Another bit of America disappears with every sign that goes up, with each government form printed, with each Spanish billboard, with each bilingual teacher installed, with each phone called made the requires dialing one for English, with each Mayday, with each Cinco De Mayo, with each TV commercial highlighting a Latino as the new focally point of commerce, with every anchor baby born, with every US taxpayer dollar spent on an illegal, with every US dollar shipped south of the border, with each new Spanish TV or Radio channel hitting the airwaves or cable system, with each…. When will America wake up and see that bit-by-bit America is loosing its unique character, it’s ID in the world, it’s American Heritage. America is slowly but surly being handed over to Mexico bit-by-bit. Remember Mexico’s remarks “Where Mexicans are, Mexico is also thereâ€
