Floridians for Immigration Enforcement Alert

Citizen's voices are needed for mandatory E-Verify without exemptions

The fate of mandatory E-Verify for Florida will be determined this week, by May 6th session end. Citizens, FLIMEN, Tea Parties, and Minutemen lobbied hard all last week but those who would benefit by continuing mass illegal immigration have been lobbying hard too, including hordes of illegal aliens who invaded the capitol last week. The illegal aliens and their supporters have promised to continue their massive demonstrations and disruptions within the Capitol during the last week of the session. Closely aligned but quieter, the business interests including the Chamber of Commerce, agricultural interests and other for-profit special interests have been lobbying hard for exemptions.

What we now have in Tallahassee is an epic battle between citizens and special interests who will continue to profit by the hiring of the hiring of illegal aliens over citizens and legal workers. Athough citizens have made it very clear that the state policy must be to transition to a legal work force, the fate of mandatory E-Verify without exemptions is far from certain. DURING THIS CRITICAL LAST WEEK IT TAKE THE VOICES OF CITIZENS LIKE YOU TO DETERMINE WHETHER MANDATORY E-VERIFY WITHOUT EXEMPTIONS IS ENACTED.

The House of Representatives has been far more responsive to the voices of citizens and it is believed that the majority of Representatives will vote for mandatory E-Verify without exemptions. Unfortunately the Senate has been far less supportive. Disarray, weakening amendments and stalling have been the the Senate's mode of operation from the beginning.

It's basically up to you now. Let them politely know you stand for citizens, legal workers and the rule of law.

Please forward this message to everyone you can.

We need you to call Senators as listed below using these TALKING POINTS:

•MANDATORY E-VERIFY WITHOUT EXEMPTIONS must be enacted this year.

•The E-Verify language of SB2040 is grossly deficient so the Senate should adopt the strong mandatory E-Verify language of HB7089.

•Industry expemptions are unfair and unacceptable.

•There are 1.1 million unemployed in Florida while about 825,000 illegal aliens hold Florida jobs.

•Illegal immigration in Florida is estimated to cost $5.5 billion annually and E-Verify will reduce these costs over time.

•Florida has a $4 billion budget deficit and and E-Verify will reduce these costs over time.
