    Help pick Trent Lott's replacement

    ConservativesBetrayed.com

    Dear Fellow Conservative,

As you may know, Mississippi Senator Trent Lott has announced his intention to resign by the end of this year. Republican Governor Haley Barbour has the power to appoint an interim replacement until a special election can be held some time next year.

This gives Gov. Barbour an outstanding opportunity to appoint a principled conservative who can help lead the Republican Party back to its core conservative values for the future.

But if instead he appoints a go-along-get-along insider type who’s afraid to rock the boat, then that person will help continue the Party’s slide away from its own core principles—and its losses at the polls.

That’s why I’ve started this on-line petition to encourage Gov. Barbour to appoint a young, principled conservative to replace Sen. Lott.

I’ll send the petition with the names of the signers to Governor Barbour and Republican leaders in Mississippi, as well as copies to the Republican National Committee, President Bush, Republican Members of Congress, media outlets, bloggers, and many other Republican leaders. Republican leaders need to know that the grassroots are discouraged, disheartened, disillusioned, and even angry at the betrayal of our conservative principles and values.

Click here to sign this important on-line petition encouraging Gov. Barbour to appoint a young, principled conservative to replace Sen. Trent Lott.

And please forward this message to all your conservative friends and family and ask them to join you in signing this petition.

    Thank you,
