They'll never lower the price enough to undercut the illegal drug trade. There are just too many greedy people, including the state, that want their piece of the 'pot' pie. Furthermore, lowering the price will also make it cheaper for smugglers to black market the drugs in surrounding states that are smart enough not to legalize the drug.

Legalizing marijuana is creating a host of problems that will never be solved unless the legalizing states reverse their course.

Lower tax on the pot and RAISE the tax on gas or something else.

Big shell game with these GREEDY politicians!!!

They will get their tax...you can BET on it.

Meanwhile...now they have millions more people getting stoned that most likely would have never bought the pot.

No, you are completely wrong, MW. When the full market in California is served by legal suppliers, the illegal market has nowhere to go but home, south of the Border. Funny how you call legitimate American businesses who are being unfairly taxed by DemoQuacks "greedy people". All the "smart" states that don't legalize weed are in cahoots with the drug cartels making all their money illegally, violently and tax-free. They've been protected for decades by the bans and illegal drug trade you support, which I find .... disgusting.

You're wrong. Organized crime, even those involved in the illegal drug trade, will continue as it always has. As for the drug cartels, marijuana isn't their only cash cow. They've got a lot of fingers in California and they aren't going away just because California legalizes weed. Actually states like California have created a new market for illegal weed. Yep, smugglers will buy marijuana legally and distribute it to other non-legalized states for profit.

states that don't legalize weed are in cahoots with the drug cartels
Wow, what a ludicrous comment to make. The states not supporting the legalization of marijuana for recreation use are more concerned about the health and well-being of their citizen population than they are about tax dollars from selling weed. While every state would enjoy more money, they all haven't allowed their greed to blind them to the ills of a schedule 1 drug.

I don't care if they smuggle legal weed across state lines. It's American grown which means American growers get paid and there's no border crossings hauling in weed from other countries. No border crossings, less illegal immigration. Good! There's no down side to legal weed, all upside.

    LOL!!!

You poor thing, they oppose legal weed because the more legal weed, the less drug cartel payola for cops and politicians.

Judy wanted to lower the cost of enforcement by legalizing pot. Now she wants to lower the price to encourage more use of pot!
