I doubt that there is any analysis of the slow attrition of financial costs to Americans because of unscrupulous foreigners. More amd more Americans could tell a story about how some scheming foreign transplant--or even internet acquaintance ---- has caused them a major crisis. The US is quickly gaining a reputation as a destination for international schemers. So this is a slow, ongoing disaster.
