If you live in California ... run!

If you live in California, you might think about running! I just read Gov Schwarzenegger's 2010 State Address and the trend he outlined is grim. Here are just a few things he said:

1. There are 38,000,000 people who live in California. About 50% of the state revenue (state income tax) is from 144,000 people.

2. 30 years ago, 10% of the general fund went to higher education and 3% went to prisons.

and now?

7.5% goes to higher education and 11% to prisons.

The above is a lousy trend.

3. When President Clinton was President, California got 94 cents on the dollar back from the Federal Government. And now? California gets only 78 cents.

The above is a lousy trend.

(And note: Texas gets 94 cents, Pennsylvania gets $1.07, and Alaska gets $1.84...and New Mexico? $2.03)
