Fredo Arias-King is a Mexican Political Scientist who is a member of the Partida Accion Nacional and a former advisor to Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderon. He is a strong believer in the potential of Mexico and feels that illegal immigration is bad for both countries.

Here are two papers on why he feels that an amnesty is a bad move for the people of the United States and also precedent for democratic principles. He does not hold the illegal immigrants responsible for the problem instead seeing it as a failure or corruption in the leadership of the two countries.

Despite my efforts to get him to engage in a public dialogue on his papers he has said that immigration is not his field. Obviously he is wrong as his papers have shown a better understanding of the problem than almost all commentators.
