Hamza Kashgari is a newspaper reporter from Saudi Arabia. He was in Malaysia when local police, acting on behalf of Interpol, detained and arrested him. Kashgari was then immediately returned to Saudi Arabia to face charges that carry the death penalty.

What was his crime?

According to a report from Saudi Arabia, Kashgari was guilty of blasphemy because he criticized the founder of their religion of Islam when he posted the following on his Twitter page,

“I have loved things about you and I have hated things about you. There is a lot I don’t understand about you. … I will not pray for you.”

Islamic clerics have led a movement to condemn Kashgari for his comments. Reports indicate that there are tens of thousands of Saudi people have been expressing their anger and indignation over the incident. An online petition calling for his execution has already garnered over 13,000 signatures.

Saudi Arabia had issued a ‘red notice’ on Kashgari which was picked up and passed on internationally by Interpol. One Interpol official denies that the international law enforcement organization had anything to do with the arrest and return of Kashgari. Yet it is a fact that a Malaysian police spokesman said,

“This arrest was part of an Interpol operation which the Malaysian police were a part of.”

A number of experts on international law are seeing the use of Interpol to help enforce Sharia law as being dangerous and something that could affect people in every country of the world including the US. Interpol is an international organization that works with national and local law enforcement agencies in many countries.

If you don’t think it would matter to anyone in the US then think again. Executive Order 13524 was issued by President Obama in December of 2009. Obama’s order conferred that Interpol has the privileges of a foreign diplomatic mission on many issues within the United States.

Former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy warned that Obama’s executive order, which was an amendment to one previously issued by President Reagan, would establish,

“An international police force immune from the restraints of American law. This international police force (whose U.S. headquarters is in the Justice Department in Washington) will be unrestrained by the U.S. Constitution and American law while it operates in the United States and affects both Americans and American interests outside the United States.”

McCarthy and others believe that Interpol could use Obama’s executive order to act on any red notices issued by foreign governments against US citizens. They say they would not be surprised to see Interpol agents arresting US citizens and deporting them to any country that issues a red notice against them.

Now add to this revelation of Interpol’s free reign in the US to the recently passed National Defense Authorization Act that gives the military the right to arrest and detain Americans without due process of law.

Also keep in mind that the Obama administration has been working very closely with the Saudi government and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. One of their main projects is known as the Istanbul Process, which would recognize and enforce Sharia law internationally and to make it an international crime for anyone to offend the Muslim religion.

When you add all of this up, it basically means that the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights will NOT supersede international laws enforced by Interpol on US citizens. Our own military may be used to arrest Americans and turn them over to Interpol and the country issuing a red notice, without any due process of law here in the US. It also means that once arrested, you will receive no help from the US government.

In fact, as it stands right now, any reporter or blogger such as myself who writes anything critical of Islam or Sharia law, could suddenly disappear from our homes, only to reappear in an Islamic court half way around the world and good old Uncle Sam won’t even bat an eyelash.

That’s why it is very important that Congress act as fast as it can to countermand Executive Order 13524 AND there needs to be a federal law passed banning any foreign government and Interpol from acting upon US soil and that especially includes Sharia law. Write and call your Congressman/woman and Senator and get them acting on this now before it’s too late.
