A traffic stop near the Sea Pines Circle early Saturday netted cocaine hidden under the passenger's seat, according to a Beaufort County sheriff's report.

The 1999 Dodge Dakota was pulled over for a defective tail light on Pope Avenue at 1:29 a.m., the report stated.

Deputies searched the car when they discovered that the driver -- Carlos Antonio, 19, of Bluffton House Apartments -- did not have a license, authorities said.

Officers found about 7 grams of powder cocaine, the report said.

Antonio and his passenger, Maria G. Hurtado of Shady Green Lane, were each charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and taken to the county jail, according to the report.
