I am a Ron Paul supporter, but it seems to me that the outspoken Jesse is the last thing he needs.
No sorry needed, I'm sorry for jumping on you! It's just that if people did some research on Jesse they'd see the guy is crazy like a FOX! He is a drama queen, and a bragger, I assume that's why he said that stuff about Mexico. He will bring in many supporters for Ron, just like if a NASCAR person was at the Convention, they would too. Ron Paul is trying to pull in a huge crowd.

All wrestlers are flamboyent like that, but I don't think they are all dumb lugs. CA has a #1 bodybuilder from Austria , as Governor! Wjo woudda thunk that?

I don't agree with his obvious immigration stance either. BUT, he does stand behind our Constitution.

No one believes 100% in anyone's stance on issues. We have different exposures. Notice Jesse knows the Mexicans that STAY in Mexico. They probably are nice law-abiding people.

Isn't that area he's in, in Mexico, the one having all that kidnapping, raping, home invasion and stealing going on to tourists. I saw it on TV within the last 2 months.

His 2 books are very good, I came out with a different point of view on him. I went into it thinking as you. Don't under estimate his weirdness. They don't take just anyone to be a Navy SEAL. IF he was as many think, do you think Ron would have him on the show? Remember many did think and still do think, Ron Paul is certified nuts! We know he isn't, he's right on. He has done his homework.

You never heard on TV that Ron is a doctor and that his practice didn't take insurance and that the fee is on a sliding scale according to your income. You never hear all that because he doesn't inject it in the Campaign. Like Lou never tells that his wife is Mexican.

Concerning WTC#7, there are top dogs in this country that know what really happened and the administration tries to discredit them and silence them. Do you think firefighters first hand accounts are bogus?

I am just amazed at the people that have no idea that 3 buildings went down on 9-11 and ONE was never touched by a plane! That's the one all the conspiracy theories are about.

Putting any trust in this current government will get us all killed. It's worse than we can imagine and we will not know for 25 years. Would anyone have believed what JFK was about to do at the Bay of Pigs? No, but it's out there for us to see now.

Yep, I agree - Jesse Ventura is a certified idiot that enjoys promoting controversy (sells more books).

    Jesse
Immigration is nowhere near the catastrophe the more vocal segments of the Right want you to believe it is. Because they’re opposed to immigration, many of the folks on the far Right would like for you to believe that our country is being overrun with indigent Mexicans and Haitians, which is simply not true. America has always been a nation of immigrants. Yes, we do have to uphold a fair and sensible policy where immigration is concerned. But immigration is an integral part of who we are.

Source: Do I Stand Alone, by Jesse Ventura, p. 50 Jul 2, 2000"
He is confusing immigration with ILLEGAL immigration, in the same paragraph. 2000 and 2008 are totally different times to me. Some people do hate Legal immigration, I'm assuming most of us here have no problem with it, if it's legally done. (And not Amnesty!)

    Does this describe a fool?
"From September 11, 1969 to September 10, 1975 he served in the United States Navy as a Navy UDT and was on active duty January 5, 1970 through December 10, 1973 during the Vietnam era. Ventura served with Underwater Demolition Team 12 during his time on active duty. He later served reserve service as a member of SEAL Team ONE. According to the United States Naval Special Warfare Command policy, Ventura is entitled to use the title "SEAL", due to both his service in the UDT and SEAL teams, and his successful graduation from UDT-R (now BUD/S) training. He was awarded the National Defense Ribbon and the Vietnam Service Ribbon but was not in combat to qualify for the Combat Action Ribbon. In his autobiography, Ventura described SEAL training as the toughest experience of his life. "It's worse than anything you can imagine," he wrote, "You have to want it bad, very bad." "

I recall hearing an interview with Jesse Ventura on the radio and I agreed with everything he had to say until it came to illegal immigration. The truth of the matter is that as Americans, we are not always going to agree with each other on every issue. Nowadays, we have been conditioned to demonize anyone who has an opposing point of view, which in the long run doesn't do this country any good.

The Founding Fathers didn't always agree on everything either you know, and that's the beauty of Liberty. But I would stand beside anyone who puts the principles of the constitution above politics as usual.

And those of you who immediately rush to judgement on people who question 9-11, my response is this: Have you done extensive research on the subject and studied it logically, or are you reacting to it emotionally?
    Be truthful now! ;0

I was an early doubter myself but after much research from various sources I feel that there is enough unresolved questions to warrant a new investigation.

It's frightening and it's something most of us cannot even comprehend the possibility of but if true, shouldn't those responsibe be brought to justice for all those innocent Americans that perished on that day? Is it not our duty to make sure our government answers ALL the tough questions that were never asked by the 9-11 Commission? Think about it - even if there were mistakes made - no one was held accountable! WE need to stop hiding our heads in the sand because the topic is too painful for us, and demand answers. Patirotism is standing up for what is right even when it may not be the most popular thing to do.

Can anyone argue with the fact that Jesse will bring Ron Paul some much needed publicity? That's what Ron's been missing, the media has refused to publicize him. They won't be able to with Jesse on board.

Did you read the Popular Mechanic article that debunked the wild theories floating around concerning 9/11?

Ventura is very suceptable to conspiracy theories. I have no issue with distrusting this admistration, but the facts have to back up the claim. I am aware of the Popular Mechanics critique of the conspiracy claims, and I don't currently buy the conspiracy claims.

Jesse is also an ardent believer that JFK was killed because he was going to get us out of Vietnam. While this is a more popular theory, it is also incorrect. I saw Chris Mathews destroy Ventura on his show adressing this.

In the Larry King link I provided, he repeated the popular factoid that "The Gulf of Tonkin incident did not happen." The truth is that the USS Maddux was attacked by North Vietnamese vessals in international waters. It was a second reported attack that probably did not happen. The second report was due to confusion on the ship due to radar malfunction and a thunder storm. I have no problem with people saying that Johnson was provoking the North Vietnamese with the Maddux, that the second attack did not happen, and that LBJ rushed to judgement, because he wanted a wider war.......but people repeating that the attack simply did not happen at all is just plain bull sh*t.

Probably because Paul does not support anything that would prevent employers from hiring whomever they want. Remember, this is coming from a man who thinks the border fence is offensive (his words). Paul supports the free flow of people and commerce through our borders.

Ron Paul has voted against E-Verify since it's inception (voted against E-Verify Pilot Program). Furthermore, he does not support the SAVE Act which includes a mandatory requirement for all employers to use E-Verify (phased in).

Thanks MW for the heads up. I am glad he's not running as of now.

I have exciting news for my family line. We never did any ancestory research until this year. I have just found out that I am a direct descendent of John Daggett of the Massachussettes Bay Colony. I don't know exactly what branch I'm from as yet, but I have a great Aunt, who has done all the research and hopefully will let me know which branch I desend. She lives in Rhode Island. I do know John Daggett came around 1625 with John Winthrop about 5 years after the pilgrims.

Hope to find out more soon. Just thought I'd share.
