    I know a guy who's wife used jiffy lube. They changed her oil and oil filter.
    The same day the guy's wife's car burned up on the freeway when a majority of the oil leaked out through the oil filter -- which appeared not to have been properly tightened. Of course, Jiffy Lube denied it.

    I know another guy who went to Jiffy Lube (against his better judgement, because he didn't have the time) and later on discovered they had screwed on the oil pan bolt so securely he had to use a breaker bar to get it off! The bolt head was already partially mashed by all the torque they used putting it on and he was afraid he would strip it off completely.

    Another reason to know how to do some things on the car.

    I use to do all the repair work on my truck because I knew where to find the guy that did the work if any thing went wrong.
