John Kerry Blames Obama Incomptence on Bush: Liberal Math Gone Wild

John Kerry Blames Obama Incomptence on Bush: Liberal Math Gone Wild

Before John Kerry allowed the press to ask him questions on the nuclear accord with Iran that strongly resembles the one Clinton Brokered with North Korea, he decided to do some preemptive spin:

“In 2003, when the Iranians made an offer to the former administration with respect to their nuclear program, there were 164 centrifuges. That offer was not taken. Subsequently, sanctions came in, and today there are 19,000 centrifuges and growing.”
That looks bad for the Bush administration doesn’t it? Yes, it does unless you check your facts first. We know by the end of 2007, Iran had about 3,000 centrifuges. Using generous numbers, Iran would have had 5,000 by the end of the Bush years. That would mean in 8 years of Bush, Iran built 5,000 centrifuges but in less than 5 years under Obama, they built 14,000. It seems a lot different when you add context to liberal gibberish. In other words, 75% of Iran’s nuclear capacity was built while Obama was on a golf course somewhere.
Kerry expanded on his delusional theory in an interview with George Stephanopoulos:
“In 2003, Iran made an offer to the Bush administration that they would, in fact, do major things with respect to their program. They had 164 centrifuges. Nobody took that [deal] — nothing has happened. Therefore, here we are in 2013 — they have 19,000 centrifuges and they’re closer to a weapon. You cannot sit there and pretend that you’re just going to get the thing you want while they continue to move towards the program that they’ve been chasing….You can’t always start where you want to wind up.”
Kerry will be testifying to congress on Iran for the first time since the agreement was signed and I am sure, they will help him pin down when Iran added the centrifuges.
Meanwhile, checking with his spokesman who pleaded ignorance of the numbers (an honest liberal…pleading ignorance…I can buy that) said:
“We have not questioned the fact that Iran has made progress on enrichment and on developing a nuclear weapon. That’s one of the reasons why we stepped up sanctions over the past couple of years.”
And when confronted with the fact that 70% of the build up occurred under Obama, the spokesperson spun out of control saying:
“I think what we’re focused on at this point is the fact that we’re now at a point where we are halting and rolling back the progress of their program and we’re working towards a comprehensive agreement to bring an end to it.”
Someone has been into those special brownies again. There is nothing in the agreement to stop Iran from advancing their position on nukes.
