John McCain's White House Bid: Dead in South Carolina

John McCain's White House Bid: Dead in South Carolina

Pay attention media people -- John McCain just lost his bid for the White House. In a South Carolina Straw Poll announced in Spartanburg, SC, McCain won with 164 votes.

Erickson? You crazy? How does that mean he lost?

Well, let's look at the details.

McCain has the entire South Carolina Republican structure: the Governor, one of two U.S. Senators, the vast majority of the state GOP legislative caucus.

Rudy Giuliani has nothing. There's no significant structure for Rudy in South Carolina. He has no significant presence and no significant hires in the state.

How did the straw poll break down:

    164 McCain
    162 Giuliani
    158 Hunter
    85 Brownback
    80 Romney
    21 Huckabee

Interestingly, Hunter was within 6 votes of McCain and Giuliani, yet he received no mention in the article.

Where's Tancredo? Is there a reason why he is not in the poll?
We are NOT a nation of immigrants!

Good question, did he not receive any votes?

With Hunter having much less name recognition than the top two weasels, I think he did darn well. If he gets around and people understand his take on the issues, he'll do even better!
This is reassuring news. Maybe people are beginning to understand what is threatening this country and who can best fix it.
