Muslims Have Only Selves to Blame for Negative Image

Many Muslims all over the world believe that the West is distorting the image of Islam and that the Western media is behind this. The Muslim world needs to review this position, as the high frequency of violent and barbaric acts conducted by people belonging to the Muslim faith, makes it inevitable that individuals will associate Islam with violence. Examples of such barbarity have been reported in major news outlets — both western and Arabic — in only the last 4 weeks.

Spain: A Spanish court has sentenced a Mauritanian Muslim woman to 17 years in prison after she allegedly forced her underage daughter to marry an older man and have sex with him. Mauritanians in Spain protest against “attack on customs.â€

In conclusion; Muslims must blame themselves and NOT the West for the negative image of Islam.

This is the first time I have ever seen someone admit this in print. What do muslims expect other to think of them? Especially since they hardly said a word of protest after 9-11. All they seemed to care about was the backlash of possible "hate crimes" against them!
