GovTrack.us, a website that tracks the passage of bills through Congress and the voting records of legislators, recently confirmed that it had removed a 2019 report that tagged then-Sen. Kamala Harris as that year's "most liberal" U.S. senator sometime within the last two weeks.
The organization that provides "thorough documentation of U.S. congressional voting" labeled Harris as the "most liberal compared to all senators that year," outranking even progressive stalwarts like Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
The self-described "government transparency website" now displays a "Page Not Found" error prompt whenever the link is accessed. Moreover, the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine illustrates that the webpage was yanked down sometime this month, the same month that Harris gained enough delegates to become the Democratic Party's Presidential nominee after President Joe Biden's announcement on July 21 of stepping down and endorsing Harris.
According to GovTrack founder Joshua Tauberer, the webpage removal was a consequence of the group's policy shift enacted "several years ago" to end its single-year ratings of lawmakers to only do ratings based on Congressional sessions, which are two years. He did not disclose the exact date of the webpage removal.
"We determined that the limited data available in a single year was not sufficient to create a reliable portrait of the activity of legislators, particularly given the ebbs and flows of the legislative calendar, and therefore did not serve as a useful tool to our users and the American public," Tauberer said. "We subsequently took down the previously published single-calendar-year statistics for the same reason."
Tauberer told Fox News Digital that the organization was still publishing report cards based on two-year congressional sessions and pointed to Harris' existing 2020 web page, which ranked her ideology as the "most politically left compared to Senate Democrats" for the 116th Congress. She was ranked the second most liberal in all the Senate behind Sanders.
Back in 2020, GovTrack reportedly said that the ranking was not reliable. "I think the short answer is that both things can be true: She can both be sponsoring/co-sponsoring left-leaning legislation, something with typically little risk, while also being pragmatic when push comes to shove on risky and impactful decisions," Tauberer added at the time.
Harris has been known for her hard-left stances, such as support for Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, a ban on fracking, decriminalizing illegal border crossings, starting "from scratch" on the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and more. But she later retracted most of them. For example, she clarified that she supports private health insurance.
Former President Donald Trump and his allies have already seized on GovTrack's old rating, with the Republican nominee alluding to it at a recent rally in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"Kamala Harris is the most liberal elected politician in American history. Did you know that? She's an ultra-liberal politician. She's absolutely terrible. She's as you know more liberal than Bernie Sanders, can you believe it?" Trump chided.
Democrats grow anxious about Harris' "weak" campaign skills

Democrats are now celebrating the end of their anxieties as the initial party flag bearer stepped down to give way to a younger candidate. However, in the privacy of their small circles, critics believe that the left-leaning individuals are starting to grow anxious again about Harris's prospects of defeating Trump. They are aware that she is largely untested as a candidate and faces serious challenges.
Concerns are reportedly already bubbling up over her ability to connect as well as Biden did in 2020 with white working-class and union voters in three states that were critical to defeating Trump: Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. "She wasn't a great candidate," one Democratic senator said of Harris's performance as a presidential candidate in 2020 when she pulled out of the Democratic primary before the Iowa caucuses. "She may not be as a political campaigner as good as Biden was in his prime."
According to the senator, Harris's pure political skills won't be as crucial to her success now that almost the entire Democratic Party is rallying behind her and now that she has a clear path to the nomination when the Democratic National Committee holds virtual proceedings early next month.
Sanders and his allies believe that Harris needs to do a lot more to win over blue-collar voters in these states. They weren't happy that Biden got shoved off the ticket after working closely with his top advisers to craft a progressive economic plan for the first 100 days of his second term. "For her to become president, she's going to have to be talking about issues that impact the 60 percent of Americans, working people who are living paycheck to paycheck," Sanders told the Hill last week.
Meanwhile, a Democratic strategist also said it's not clear Harris will be a stronger candidate than Biden in November. The source further noted she was more associated with defending abortion rights and voting rights than tackling economic inequality during her three and a half years as vice president. Veteran Democratic operative Brian Fallon, who joined Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign trail as communications director in December, called to "defund the police" back in June 2020."Defund the police," he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on June 4, 2020, just days after the Black Lives Matter riots that were triggered by the death of George Floyd during his arrest by Minneapolis police officers on May 25. Fallon, whose bio on X now says, "Harris for President," has not been clear if he has since changed his position on that issue, which became wildly unpopular with Democrat and Republican voters, Breitbart reported.
He has also been known for publicly criticizing President Joe Biden in the past, slamming the president back in 2019 during a debate in the Democratic presidential primaries. He posted on X, that "Biden trying to complete an answer is a tender moment." He also condemned Biden for his past collaboration with segregationists.
He lashed out one of his strongest criticisms of Biden as the future running mates duked it out for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. "White politicians and White commentators don't [sic] get to tell the two black candidates in the 2020 race they are wrong to take offense at Joe Biden's comments. Just stop," Fallon tweeted in June 2019. At a Democratic debate the day before, Harris and Sen. Cory Booker (D - NJ) condemned Biden's praise for segregationists with whom he worked with in the 1970s.
"A lot of people seem to be giving Biden a pass for that answer on slavery," Fallon tweeted during a September 2019 Democratic primary debate.
For Washington Free Beacon's Chuck Ross, Fallon may have a harder time defending Harris now that he's on her payroll as former employees described her office as toxic. In fact, according to a recent NBC News poll, a meager 29 percent of Americans have a favorable view of Harris.
Meanwhile, when Biden endorsed her candidacy following his decision to withdraw from the race, Harris has made a pivot publicly from more extremist positions. On Thursday, July 25, she publicly condemned far-left anti-Israel protesters for their antisemitic rhetoric. She posted a statement on X, saying: "I condemn any individuals associating with the brutal terrorist organization Hamas, which has vowed to annihilate the State of Israel and kill Jews. Pro-Hamas graffiti and rhetoric is abhorrent and we must not tolerate it in our nation."
Harris' backers from Hollywood to Wall Street will shape her campaign or presidency if she wins

As Harris suddenly ascended to becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee who will go face to face with former President Donald Trump in the upcoming elections, the world has also started watching out for the new cast of aides, confidants and supporters who will shape the campaign or even her stint as the POTUS, if she gets a chance to win.
According to the Financial Times, the inner circle surrounding Harris is her family, including her husband, sister, niece and brother-in-law. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, a Los Angeles-based lawyer, has been active both in the campaign, including on fundraising and at official White House events. Her sister Maya Harris, a lawyer who ran her failed 2020 campaign for the Democratic nomination, and her niece theater producer Meena Harris, remain close to her. Maya's husband Tony West has also been seen several times recently on Air Force Two, the vice president's plane.
Harris' campaign finance supporters include Wall Street icons such as top corporate bankruptcy adviser Jon Henes, who has been coordinating fundraising events. Other figures rushing to help include Ray McGuire, the Lazard banker and former Citigroup executive and Brad Karp, chair of corporate law firm Paul Weiss. Also on board are Blair Effron, the veteran dealmaker at Centerview Partners and a fixture of Democratic fundraising, Blackstone president Jonathan Gray, Evercore co-founder Roger Altman and Marc Lasry, the hedge fund investor and former co-owner of NBA team the Milwaukee Bucks.
"Many in Wall Street have been extremely supportive of Kamala for years," said a Democratic fundraiser. "Blair and Brad backed her hugely in the 2020 presidential primaries?.?.?.?they aren't last minute supporters."
Harris's husband, being a well-regarded entertainment lawyer, has also enabled her to have strong Hollywood connections. The couple lives in the posh Brentwood neighborhood, where Arnold Schwarzenegger and Disney Chief Executive Bob Iger also reside.
She is also good friends with Chrisette Hudlin, who is the wife of Reginald Hudlin, a Democratic donor and former president of Black Entertainment Television and producer of films including House Party and Django Unchained. She is also close to Dana Walden, co-chair of Disney Entertainment, who along with her husband Matt have been friends and financial backers since 2003. Producer Ryan Murphy and Nicole Avant, wife of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, are also her supporters, as well as Laura Shell, wife of Jeff Shell, the former NBCUniversal executive and incoming Paramount CEO.

We’ve seen lots of pictures featuring a happy-looking Kamala Harris in recent days as her party tries to position her as a viable presidential candidate, but many people who have worked with her in the past report that there was no joy to be found in their interactions with her.Although she has long been accused of workplace bullying at different points in her career, the fact that just four out of the 71 staffers she hired during her first year in office are still with her is extremely telling. Everyone else has either quit or been fired, which makes for a staff turnover rate of 92 percent – an appalling figure that would leave any business scrambling to make changes at the top in response.
Accusations of running a toxic workplace have plagued Harris since her days as the California Attorney General in the 2010s. For example, a professor at California State University, Barbara O’Connor, reported that students of hers who interned for Harris would often come to her in tears.
The situation did not change when she became a senator, with an analysis revealing that her office came in ninth place in staff turnover rates among the 114 senators who served in the years from 2017 to 2020.
During that time, sources in Congress report that she was known to berate her subordinates and go on tirades full of expletives.
One notable incident in which she couldn’t control her anger and failed to treat staff respectfully took place during Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings in 2018. After staging a walkout from the hearings, she blew up at staffers outside the main Judiciary Committee room, cursing and even giving orders to people who didn’t work for her. Those present on this occasion say she yelled, “Anyone who’s staff, get the f--- out of here.”
More evidence of her poor treatment of employees came in the form of a resignation letter that her former State Operations Director, Kelly Mehlenbacher, shared with the New York Times in 2019. She said that she had “never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly” and added that “morale has never been lower.”
Low morale appears to be a common theme when working for Kamala, with a Politico report in June 2021 revealing that dozens of people they spoke to who were familiar with her vice presidential office described “low morale, porous lines of communication and diminished trust among aides and senior officials.” One source said that people there did not feel supported and instead felt that they were “treated like s—t,” while another described it as an “abusive environment.”
Another former aide described her as someone who didn’t prepare for public appearances and then pointed fingers at her staff when they inevitably went wrong.
"Soul-destroying criticism"

One source told the Washington Post: “It's clear [with Harris] that you're not working with somebody who is willing to do the prep and the work. With Kamala you have to put up with a constant amount of soul-destroying criticism and also her own lack of confidence. So you're constantly sort of propping up a bully and it's not really clear why.”
Reports about her workplace bullying often note that the people in these roles are accustomed to working under pressure with challenging bosses and maintaining demanding hours, so this is not simply a matter of people finding themselves in over their head working for someone with such a high profile. Some Democrat insiders are worried that she won’t have enough senior aides by her side to be successful in her presidential run thanks to the toxic workplace environments she creates.
