Sen. Ted Kennedy Taken To Hospital In Mass.
BOSTON (AP) ― Sen. Edward Kennedy, who has been in treatment for brain cancer, was taken to a hospital near his Cape Cod, Mass. vacation home after complaining of feeling ill.

Barnstable, Mass. police Sgt. Ben Baxter said the 911 call from the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port came at about 5:10 p.m. on Friday.

Baxter said Kennedy was then taken by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital. Baxter said Kennedy was "alert and responsive" during the trip.

Representatives of Kennedy and the hospital did not immediately return calls for comment.

Kennedy had a seizure in May and underwent surgery in June for a malignant brain tumor. After undergoing six weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatment, he has been steadily increasing his public activity.
