Kosovo "independence" and its message to you

I would like to post this here as a memento and because the fate of Kosovar Serbs is a warning to all of us.

Now the Kosovar Albanians after ethnically cleansed the country from Serbs who constituted the clear majority few decades ago pronounced the independence of this old Serbian territory on Serbia. It happened with the help of both USA and EU. KLA (Kosovar Liberation Army) gangs were attacking, raping and killing Serbian villagers since eighties. One of the thugs in chief is the new "prime minister" Hashim Thaci.

Today newspapers all around the world are full of pictures of young students celebrating Kosovo independence. But please read the wikipedia article who is the new friend of G. W. Bush and John McCain (and old friend of Madeleine Albright and Clinton family):

    [quote]
Hashim Thaci also founded the "Drenica-Group" an underground organization that is estimated to have controlled between 10% and 15% of all criminal activities in Kosovo (smuggling arms, stolen cars, oil, cigarettes and prostitution). The Group relied on its close connection to the Albanian, Czech and Macedonian mafia; one of the most important factors in these connections being Thaci's sister's marriage to Sejdija Bajrush, one of the largest Albanian mafia leaders.[3] One of the group's first military activities in Kosovo was the May 25 1993 attack on the railroad crossing in Glogovac in central Kosovo, when a band composed out of Thaci and his closest Drenica friends, Rafet Rama, Jakup Nuri, Sami Ljustku and Ilijaz Kadriju; killed four Serbian policemen and severely wounded three. On 17th June 1996 Thaci and several other members of the KLA opened fire on a Serbian police car in Sipolje in northern Kosovo, on the Kosovar Mitrovica-Pec road. Later the same year another unit under Thaci threw hand grenades into the Serbian military barracks "MiloÅ¡ Obilić" in VuÄ

Lugundum your demographic statistics are wrong or your time frame. In fact Kosovo did have a Serbian majority about a century ago. Kosovo is a barren rocky place which has been hard to work. As Serbia around the capital Belgrade and the other ciities developed a lot of the young Kosovo Serbs moved away. The Serbians were less likely to hire Kosovo Albanians and so they remained as farmers having larger numbers of children and at younger ages than the Serbs.
Enough generations of a pattern and it leads to changes in the demographics. There are Serbs in Belegrade who will tell you that their families came from Kosovo and Kosovo had a major role in the history of Serbia. It has been a long time since the Serbs had a majority within Kosovo.

Richard, your post compelled me to check facts at
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographi ... _of_Kosovo

and actually you are right. It was roughly one hundred years, so the formulation about few decades is not precise enough. Thanks for this. However all other facts stand up.

The remaining Serbs are living behind barbed wire under the protection of EU forces. What fate will they face?

I wish that the Yugoslavians had held together and worked out their differences. Although no one discusses it the first thing that caused Yugoslavia to crumble was the seccession of Slovenia. The Slovene Republc wanted to grow faster and some banks overseas were willing to provide finance if they became independent. Once that happened the various nationalisms pulled the country apart.

You are right there is a very troubled future for Kosovo's remaining Serbs.

I am glad to see someone post this. Serbia is a UN debacle. They are surrently in a subjugated state and have suffered immensly as the rest of Central and Eastern Europe have prospered. While Bill Clinton and Catepillar tractors may have benefitted in the short term financially, they have left ruin, under the UN brand for all of Serbia.

I mean, how dare the Serbs protect themselves from Muslim and Albanian ethnic warfare. (sarcasm)

The UN punished Serbia for resisting Muslim expansionism.

Take for example the incident with the Serb Skorpions and the execution of Muslim Albanians. The UN qualified this as ethnic cleansing and has endeavored to take action against this in the name of human rights. Yet Illegal ALien Mexicans execute our Border Patrol, American citizens and American veterans on a daily basis, our government calls this a demand for labor. On one end its genocide, but when "ethnic" entities engage in it it is some how civil rights? And...in the end Serbia was moving forward under the same motivations all of the other former Yugoslav republics, they just happened to sitting on some oil pipelines and fighting Muslims.

    Hypocrisy? Si se puede!

    Check out this page:
    http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_t ... _1014.html

SAFETY AND SECURITY: NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) troops, along with international and local police, are responsible for security and stability in Kosovo. Although the overall security situation has improved, inter-ethnic tensions and sporadic incidents of violence continue to occur.

In March 2004, Kosovo experienced three days of widespread inter-ethnic violence, including several incidents in the capital, Pristina. This outbreak resulted in 20 deaths, hundreds of injuries, and approximately 4,000 displaced individuals. Since those riots, there has been no resumption of serious violence, although the atmosphere remains tense, particularly as the EU/Russia/U.S. troika-led status talks move to conclusion.

Americans should avoid demonstrations and other sites, such as roadblocks, where large crowds are gathered, particularly those involving political/ethnic causes or striking workers.

High unemployment and other economic factors have encouraged criminal activity. While de-mining programs have proven effective, unexploded ordnance and mines remain in some areas. The reliability of telecommunications, electric and water systems remains unpredictable. Travel by U.S. Government officials to some areas of Kosovo that have experienced recent ethnic violence is subject to restrictions.

Anyone have any opinions as to the how this could effect the rest of Europe as the demographics are changing there so rapidly?

It seems a little eery, but was it not Belgrade were a Serbian shot the Prince of (?) and ushered in WW1?

Lugundum, I found an article addressing that which you reported, as well as a few others from an unbiased Canadian research organization which may interest you. Thank you for your grave concern and for revealing more truth. This is disturbing and frightening to us all. Everyone needs to read some of the following:

There are a LOT of other articles on what has been been happening in Kosovo at the same source of the articles above. Following is the link to the index of these articles. Type in "Kosovo" to search and find:

The topic you posted seems well timed.

Almost on a sort of demonic cue, the Wall Street Journal publishes an article praising Kosovo. This is the same newspaper that once had journalistic integrity, but is simply now part of Rupert Murdocks domain.

    WSJ KOSOVO

Given the context of the issues you brought up, this articles propagandistic scent stinks much louder than usual. This article is pushing its agenda rather heavily.

Serbia needs another leader who can acknowledge the country's cultural and historical links to Kosovo, while accepting its neighbor's desire for freedom.
This is the new mantra of the collectivist world. Accept engineered change or pay the price.

This is also a great example of how the globalist machine works and it should be quite freightening.

This was exactly the U.S.(future NAU)/EU/UN/NATO/WTO plan.
